One year ago today, 19 members of the Granite Mountain Hot Shots wildland fire crew died during the Yarnell Hill fire in central Arizona. We in Prescott will pause today to remember our fallen heroes.

Obama has denied FEMA money to the victims of the Yarnell Fire. This fire was started by lightning. The Prescott Valley Granite Mountain Hotshots lost 19 firefighters in this fire, along with 129 homes and structures.

Tomorrow's "Yarnell 19" memorial is getting out of hand. a temporary cell tower is being erected in the Kohl's parking lot. SS communication? Jamming? Semis with big-screen TVs for parking lot viewing of the memorial. TV trucks with big dish transmitters (NBC will pipe it live, and feed other networks, but lots of local tv crews). <p>Lorene Yarnell, a dancer who became half of the Shields and Yarnell comedy mime team that came to fame in the 1970s has died. She was 66.</p> <p>Yarnell died of a brain aneurysm July 29 while watching television with her husband, Bjorn Jansson, at their home in Sandefjord, Norway, said Robert Shields, her former husband and show business partner.</p>
