The White House announced Thursday morning that the deadline for federal contractors to receive their vaccinations is being pushed back to Jan. 4, 2022. The change aligns the contractor deadline with new requirements from the Department of Labor's Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) for certain private employees and from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services for healthcare workers at their facilities. The White House says that moving the deadline from Dec. 8 into early next year is meant to provide clarity across various requirements, and isn't a response to current labor crunches and the upcoming holiday season. "We wanted...

MCLEAN, Va. — The party faithful had been chatting amongst themselves for three hours, periodically craning their necks for a glimpse of the cable news playing on mute in the press pen, nervously refreshing their drinks at the cash bar, and quietly complaining about the lack of reliable wi-fi in the Hilton ballroom, when Terry McAuliffe finally arrived. He didn’t say much. In a speech that barely lasted five minutes, the normally chatty politician thanked his supporters and his family and his staff before quickly leaving the stage. Notably, he did not concede. And, for the first time in a...

White House press secretary Jennifer Psaki has said that she has tested positive for COVID-19 days after members of her household came down with the virus. Psaki, who opted to stay in Washington due to a family emergency as President Joe Biden left for his trip to Rome and Glasgow on Oct. 28, said in a statement on Sunday, “On Wednesday [Oct. 27], in coordination with senior leadership at the White House and the medical team, I made the decision not to travel on the foreign trip with the President due to a family emergency, which was members of my...

Moderna Inc (MRNA.O)said on Sunday it has been told that the U.S. Food and Drug Administration will require additional time to complete its assessment of the company's COVID-19 vaccine for use in adolescents aged 12 to 17 years. The FDA informed Moderna that the review may not be completed before January 2022, the company said in a statement, dealing a potential setback to the timing of an emergency use authorization (EUA) for that age group. Moderna Chief Executive Stephane Bancel told Reuters last week that based on conversations with the agency, he believed the vaccine would be authorized for those...

When CBS News pointed incorrectly to a region in Murcia, Spain when trying to locate La Palma, an island in the Canaries, the internet did its thing. I know, geography can be SO confusing! The Cumbre Vieja volcanic eruption sits on the Iberian Peninsula of Spain, but when CBS gave this report on the catastrophe, they pointed to a region in Murcia, Spain, 2,219 kilometres away. To be fair, a La Palma does exist in the region of Murcia near Cartagena. When speaking about an island, however, it is not too difficult to see the mistake when CBS points to...

The hosts of ‘The Five' rebuked Rep. Ilhan Omar, D-Minn., Tuesday for blaming the rise in crime in Minneapolis on a "dysfunctional" police department and for "not fulfill[ing] their oath of office." "The police have chosen to not fulfill their oath of office and to provide the public safety they are owed to the citizens they serve," she said. "The Minneapolis Police Department is the most dysfunctional police department in our state and probably in the country." "She called the police dysfunctional, but as far as I can tell, none of them married their brother," "The Five" co-host Greg Gutfeld...

The 47-year-old news anchor — who muscled her way into the evening slot in 2019 as she fled a reportedly strained relationship with co-host Gayle King on “CBS This Morning” — now stands vulnerable to the network’s bean counters as her ratings have stayed stubbornly stuck in third place, according to sources close to the situation. Insiders likewise pointed to O’Donnell’s hefty pay package that is in the ballpark of $8 million a year and a three-year contract that’s slated to expire next spring.

Excerpt: SNIPFindingsAt the country-level, there appears to be no discernable relationship between percentage of population fully vaccinated and new COVID-19 cases in the last 7 days (Fig. 1). In fact, the trend line suggests a marginally positive association such that countries with higher percentage of population fully vaccinated have higher COVID-19 cases per 1 million people. Notably, Israel with over 60% of their population fully vaccinated had the highest COVID-19 cases per 1 million people in the last 7 days. The lack of a meaningful association between percentage population fully vaccinated and new COVID-19 cases is further exemplified, for instance,...

Confronted on his claim that Republicans “stole” the 2000 election, Virginia Democratic gubernatorial nominee Terry McAuliffe refused to say on Sunday that George W. Bush won that election. CNN’s State of the Union with Jake Tapper and Dana Bash played a couple soundbites of McAuliffe falsely saying that Democratic nominee and former Vice President Al Gore won. A third soundbite of McAuliffe falsely claiming that Bush lost the 2004 election was also played. “You’re being criticized for saying, well wait a minute, the Republicans are questioning election integrity when that’s exactly what you did multiple times in more than one...

Far-left demonstrators flew to Boston Monday to confront Sen. Kyrsten Sinema (D-Ariz.) over her opposition to the massive social spending bill being pushed by President Biden and Democratic congressional leaders — announcing their intention to do so as she ran the Boston Marathon. Just one problem: Sinema didn’t run the race. “While Kyrsten qualified for and attended the race, she could not run because of her continued recovery from a broken foot,” the senator’s spokesman John LaBombard told The Post in an email Monday night.

The Los Angeles school district — confronted with widespread campus disruption and the firing of potentially thousands of unvaccinated teachers and other staff — has extended the looming deadline for all workers to be fully immunized for COVID-19. The prior deadline of Oct. 15 — this Friday — has been moved to Nov. 15, when employees must have received the second of two doses of either the Pfizer or Moderna vaccine, according to a brief district statement. The district did not clearly state a timetable for the single-dose Johnson & Johnson vaccine. Interim Supt. Megan Reilly said the move represents...
