Full title: Minnesota Teachers’ Opinions Required To Be Prefaced With “As A White Person…†Because, Racism. > > Does ANYONE else see something wrong with this? Teachers being punished while their students are allowed to create utter chaos in the classroom? Or is it just me? > > The story has gotten even worse (did think that was possible). According to this, a former middle school teacher filed a lawsuit against a school district in St. Paul saying that she was the victim of harassment and physical assaults from students, and that she was barred by district policy from doing...

RIP Glen Frey 1948 - 2016 Last thing I remember, I was Running for the door I had to find the passage back To the place I was before "Relax, " said the night man, "We are programmed to receive. You can check-out any time you like, But you can never leave! "Note to Boomers: Apparently you can check out. Plan, and pack, accordingly. And in Martin Luther King Day news: I see the University of Michigan joins with #BLM, race baiters and racists everywhere to mandate classes in White Privilege for their business school students. Because indoctrination does not...

... the Bundy militia members occupying a federal wildlife preserve in Burns, Oregon are motivated by the very same mix of resentments and hobby horses that are driving the Donald Trump movement. Both Trump's supporters and the Bundy agitators are moved by an unsubtly racialized sense of entitlement, a belief that federal benefits and giveaways are great when going to conservative white people but illegitimate if they go to anyone else, especially people of color. As David Roberts at Vox recently pointed out, Trump supporters aren't motivated by some ideological opposition to the concept of government benefits. They are perfectly...

A discussion of Black Lives Matter and the importance of this movement in terms of criminal justice reform, prison abolition and the next phase of Civil Rights in our state was held at the First Unitarian Church of Providence. The mostly white, middle and upper middle class church members were interested in what they could do as a congregation to ally with and support this important movement. Much of what was presented was in line with the liberal values of those in attendance, but when speaker Marco McWilliams, director of Black Studies at Direct Action for Rights and Equality (DARE)...

Every once in a while our society surprises me and that's what happened in Baltimore recently. When the first police officer in the Freddie Gray case went to court it ended in a mistrial. That was surprising enough in and of itself. I'm fairly sure that when the city, led by Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake and prosecutor Marilyn Mosby, decided to put the officers on trial they were fairly sure that any jury they seated would bring back a conviction. That's probably why they fought so hard against moving the case out to an area where they might find a slightly...

More has changed in the past few years for women who allege rape than in all the decades since the women's movement began. Consider the evidence of October 2014, when a Philadelphia magazine reporter at a Hannibal Buress show uploaded a clip of the comedian talking about Bill Cosby: "He gets on TV, 'Pull your pants up, black people ... I can talk down to you because I had a successful sitcom.' Yeah, but you rape women, Bill Cosby, so turn the crazy down a couple notches ... I guess I want to just at least make it weird for...

Months after a hearing on sexual harassment at the Environmental Protection Agency, one of the House’s top government watchdogs has delivered on his promise to protect the youngest members of the federal workforce. The Federal Intern Protection Act, introduced by Rep. Elijah Cummings (D-Md.), ranking member of the Oversight and Government Reform Committee, unanimously passed the House on Monday.

California Attorney General Kamala Harris, a candidate for U.S. Senate, on Sunday sharply criticized the armed activists occupying a remote national wildlife refuge in Oregon, calling the protestors “crazy†and their actions “obnoxious.â€

Three teenagers suspected of taking part in a brazen gang rape at a Brooklyn playground were taken into police custody on Sunday, a law enforcement official said. The attack on Thursday night, in which the police said five young men with a gun separated a father from his 18-year-old daughter and then took turns raping the woman, set off waves of anger and uncertainty in the Brownsville neighborhood where it happened. Elected officials also questioned whether the police notified the public quickly enough after the attack, a suggestion the Police Department strongly contested on Sunday night. Two teenagers, a 14-year-old...

Shaun King: Trump’s plan to deport millions of immigrants in short time is comparable to Nazis’ rounding up of Jews BY SHAUN KING Last week I said that Donald Trump’s immigration plans were frighteningly similar to Nazi Germany. To double down on the comparison, let's actually examine Trump's campaign decree that he would "round up" 11 million undocumented immigrants in 24 months and drop them off across the border. TRUMP DOUBLES DOWN ON COMMENTS THAT BLAME BUSH FOR 9/11 That's 458,333 per month or 15,278 people per day — for two years straight. First, let me give you some scale:

Garza is a constituent of Rep. Lee's. The Congresswoman is active on issues of poverty, civil rights and education. "Looking forward to welcoming #BlackLivesMatter co-creator, @aliciagarza, as my #SOTU guest. She's a powerful voice for justice and reform," tweeted Rep. Lee on Friday....

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu remembers well just how US President Barack Obama brushed aside Israeli objections and went ahead with the P5+1 nuclear agreement with Iran. Now, Netanyahu is reportedly planning some personal payback. According to the Kuwaiti newspaper Al-Jarida, Netanyahu will make common cause with moderate Arab governments in order to sabotage Obama’s plan to succeed Ban Ki-moon when the South Korean diplomat ends his term as United Nations secretary-general on December 31 of this year. Al-Jarida quoted sources as saying that Obama has already discussed the issue of running for secretary-general with Democrats, Republicans, and Jewish officials in...

Why the near media-silence over the absurdly long-delayed trial of alleged serial killer Lonnie Franklin Jr.? Franklin would seem to represent ideal grist for the voracious 24/7 national media. There is, of course, murder. He is charged with killing 10 and suspected of killing more. The crimes took place in a big, media-centric city, Los Angeles, as opposed to some obscure small town or rural community in a fly-over state ignored by national media. There is an unsolved mystery that took place over a long time. Franklin was a former city trash collector who lived quietly in South Central Los...

Having dodged this bullet before and because no Democrat raised this issue when she ran in 2000 Hillary must have figured the MSM would cut off discussion of Bill's record of sexual assault and rape ... and Hillary's role in silencing his victims. It is obvious the Clinton-enabling MSM wants to substitute "marital infidelity" and "consensual blow jobs" for serial rape, serial sexual assault and Hillary's criminal terror campaigns to silence Bills victims . This isn’t about infidelity or consensual sex. It's not about adultery or "pain in the Clinton marriage." It's not about Bill"s girlfriends, mistresses or one-night stands....

Don’t confuse this as a defense of the Bundy family or their team of armed militia members who have occupied an abandoned building located on a federal wildlife preserve in Oregon. Any rational-thinking American should be horrified at the amount of land the federal government has confiscated, especially in the American West, but once you use or threaten violence to further a cause, you have lost me. Their cause is just. Their methods are appalling and un-American. Also un-American is Jonathan Chait of New York Magazine openly hoping these militia men end up dead.

In the latest development in the ongoing saga of Ammon Bundy's seizure of a Federal wildlife reuge office in Oregon, the members of the militia said they're ready to fight, but they won't say what they would actually do if federal authorities try to remove them by force as reported in the clip below. Video here However, while we noted the shortcomings in Bundy's latest standoff last night, what is even more notable is that as Shepard Ambellas of Intellihub points out, Montel Williams he tweeted that the National Guard should be mobilized to "kill" protesters who have currently overtaken...

During a radio interview on Sunday, Paula Jones, the former Arkansas state employee who notoriously sued President Bill Clinton for sexual harassment, demanded Hillary Clinton personally apologize for "allowing" her husband to "abuse" and "sexually harass" women. Speaking to weekend talk radio host Aaron Klein, Jones slammed Hillary as a "two-faced" "liar" who waged a war on women by trying to discredit "predator" Bill's sexual accusers. "And how dare her. You know what? She don't care nothing about women. Because if she did she would believe what I had to say. She would believe what the other women had to...

As of Sunday afternoon, The Washington Post called them "occupiers." The New York Times opted for "armed activists" and "militia men." And the Associated Press put the situation this way: "A family previously involved in a showdown with the federal government has occupied a building at a national wildlife refuge in Oregon and is asking militia members to join them." Not one seemed to lean toward terms such as "insurrection," "revolt," anti-government "insurgents" or, as some on social media were calling them, "terrorists." When a group of unknown size and unknown firepower has taken over any federal building with plans...

Montel Williams, a 1990s-era TV talk-show host who's since turned to infomercials and political activism as a means of making a living, said in several Twitter messages he's quite OK with authorities using deadly force to take out the Oregon protesters who've taken over a federal building - that they're "buffoons" with "terrorist" tendencies and unworthy of constitutional protections,. In a tweet, he wrote, the Blaze reported" "It appears #OregonUnderAttack by a bunch of undereducated terrorist buffoons who follow #ClivenBundy shall we send them to meet #ISIS."

As President Obama prepares to announce new executive actions on gun control Monday, a newly released Gallup Poll shows that "guns/gun control" ranked near the bottom of Americans' most pressing concerns in 2015. In fact, guns/gun control ranked 19th out of 23 top problems facing the country last year.
