Donald Kaul retired earlier this year. Now he has decided to return to writing occasional opinion columns for OtherWords.org. The Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting in Newtown, Conn. brought out all his ugliness. In a column that appeared after the shooting with the headline "Kaul: Nation needs a new agenda on guns," he proposed a new liberal agenda: repeal the Second Amendment, declare the NRA a terrorist organization and make membership illegal, and well, make violent threats to Republican leaders and NRA members. The Des Moines Register published this junk on December 29.

State Senator Neal Kedzie says his son was attacked while trying to stop someone from stealing his Romney/Ryan yard sign. Whitewater Police tell NBC15 News this is an active investigation. Here is the statement released by Senator Neal Kedzie: Early on Friday morning, October 19th, my son Sean was awakened by noises outside his residence in Whitewater. As he went to see what the commotion was about, he noticed an individual removing a Romney/Ryan yard sign from his property. Someone took a large knife to my front passenger tire overnight. My car is parked right off the street. I have several political bumper stickers: a pink elephant, George Washington with a teardrop running down his cheek. Sarah Palin in revolutionary garb. One that says "Our founding fathers would be shooting by now," to name a few. I live in a very liberal area in Montgomery County, outside Philadelphia. My husband's ticked. We called the policed who'll file a report. Hubby wants me to remove the stickers but I'll be damned if I'm cowing to anyone, especially "tolerant" liberals. If...

CLIFTON, Va. (AP) - An unrelenting President Barack Obama jabbed at Mitt Romney's record with a private equity firm in an ad Saturday that aimed to keep his rival on the defensive just as the Republican challenger's campaign hoped to take advantage of poor economic data to gain an edge on the incumbent. Obama met Romney's plea for an apology for the attacks with a mocking ad that charged that the firm shipped American jobs to China and Mexico, that Romney has personal wealth in investments in Switzerland, Bermuda and the Cayman Islands, and that as Massachusetts governor, he sent...

The Romney team today confirmed grass-roots reports that a campaign bus was sabotaged by an unknown vandal over the weekend. The bus, which was being used for campaign events but not transporting Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney, was parked in Richmond, Va., when the vehicle was tampered with late Saturday night or early Sunday morning. A Romney campaign official told PJM that the alternator belt was cut. Repairs were under way Monday to get the bus back on the road for a voter registration event in Springfield, Va., from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Springfield Metro Commuter Lot....

Warning: Vulgarity ahead. I wrote last week that a Newsweek article favorable to the personhood movement and personhood leaders Keith and Jennifer Mason had “riled abortion proponents.” Little did I know how much. Someone posted Mason’s home address in a comment to the Newsweek article. Newsweek closed down comments, but it was too late. At 1:30a on June 27, Mason “was in the basement, catching a movie and having a beer, to just chill,” according to a follow-up Newsweek piece, when he heard a loud noise: “[I] thought one of our kids had fallen down the stairs.” Mason says he...

Back in June of 2010 a leader of a pro-Palestinian student group at University of Berkeley allegedly rammed a Jewish woman with a shopping cart as she staged a counter-protest to an anti-Israel “Apartheid Week” rally conducted by the Muslim Student Association and Students for Justice in Palestine. The counter-protest was dubbed “Israel Wants Peace Week.” Now, U.S. District Court Judge Richard Seeborg has deemed that the Muslim students who harassed Jessica Felber and other Jewish students were simply engaging in protected political speech.

Apple knows what it's like to win injunctions against rivals. It won four of them against Samsung (two in Germany, one in the Netherlands and most recently one in Australia; all of them preliminary). Now it seems that Apple has just come out on the losing end of a patent infringement lawsuit. I have received a copy of what purports to be a default judgment by the Mannheim Regional Court barring Apple from selling in Germany -- the single largest market in Europe -- any mobile devices infringing on two Motorola Mobility patents and determining that Apple owes Motorola Mobility...

Police are trying to find a protester who dumped a beer Wednesday night on the head of state Rep. Robin Vos (R-Burlington), who was with other lawmakers at a Madison tavern. A report from the Madison Police Department identifies the victim as a 43-year-old state lawmaker from Burlington, a description that matches Rep. Robin Vos (R-Burlington), co-chairman of the Legislature's Joint Finance Committee. Vos' office confirmed he was the victim but would not say anything else about the matter, since it was being investigated by police. The incident happened at the Inn on the Park, 22 S. Thug. (TPM) — Teamsters union president James Hoffa would say it all again if he could, he told TPM Monday. Hoffa riled up Fox News and the right wing Monday with a Labor Day speech in Detroit in which he called Republican members of Congress “sons of bitches” and said union workers are ready to “go to war” with the tea party next year and “take out” Republicans at the ballot box. Hoffa said he’d say the exact same words all over again. “I would because I believe it,” he said. “They’ve declared war on us. We didn’t declare war...

Fox.com hacked Hackers have broken into a Fox.com extranet site, designed as a repository of research statistics, programming details and ratings for clients and affiliates, and stolen the emails and passwords for hundreds of Fox Broadcasting employees. The group, which calls itself Lulz Security, then used that information to alter the LinkedIn accounts of more than a dozen Fox sales employees, tweeting each one on its @LulzSec twitter account. It also posted the trove online, saying, ‘We invite the Internet to ravage the following list of emails and passwords (from a database within Fox.com) - Facebook, MySpace, PayPal, whatever you...

While University of Missouri – Kansas City Professor Judy Ancel has yet to explain her false and misleading defense of classroom statements suggesting violence is an acceptable tactic with an appropriate place in advancing the labor movement, new video reveals Ancel giving students insight into how to put non-union companies out of business. The tactic Ancel recommends to students is based upon deception and designed to burden a non-union company with a costly labor action under false pretenses.

On May 1, left-wing vigilantes will target companies across the country that have committed a mortal sin: sending donations to GOP Gov. Scott Walker of Wisconsin. Rest assured, such intolerable acts of political free speech will not go unpunished by tolerant Big Labor activists. They're calling for both a national boycott of Walker's corporate donors and a coordinated sticker vandalism campaign on GOP-tainted products. The Wisconsin Grocers Association is bracing for the anti-Walker witch hunt. Anonymous operatives have circulated sabotage stickers on the Internet and around Wisconsin that single out Angel Soft tissue paper ("Wiping your (expletive) on Wisconsin workers"),...

A Sheboygan gas station owner is baffled after a mystery caller tells a clerk it's a bad idea to do business with a Sheboygan-area state senator. It started Tuesday when a woman called Dick Hiers's Northeast Standard gas station after she thought she saw Senator Joe Leibham there. Her call was caught on the answering machine. "I think that this whole thing has to end. It has to stop," said Hiers. Hiers never thought his little gas station in the heart of Sheboygan would be the stage of political controversy. Then again, his week has been full of surprises. "I...

Investigators suspect arson in a fire that destroyed St. John Vianney Church in Hacienda Heights over the weekend. "The investigators have been quite definitive to me, this was very definitely a deliberate act," Steve Whitmore, a spokesman for the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department, told the Los Angeles Times. The arson at St. John Vianney Church is the latest in a string of crimes against Catholic institutions across California. In January, a vandal spray-painted the words “Kill the Cathlics” on the walls of St. Boniface Catholic Church in Anaheim and St. Thomas More Catholic Church in Irvine. Beginning in December...

MADISON, Wis. (AP) -- A Wisconsin woman charged with making death threats to Republican state lawmakers has pleaded not guilty to charges, but has been barred from the Capitol building and is to have no contact with those involved. Twenty-six year old Katherine Windels entered the plea to two misdemeanor counts of making threats over a computer and two felony counts of making bomb threats during an appearance in Dane County Circuit Court Thursday. A criminal complaint alleges Windels threatened to shoot the senators and plant bombs around their houses and the Capitol because of their votes in favor of...

Dead Man Walker?! Is that the kind of civility President Obama pretended to be in favor of? The call for a kinder, gentler political debate certainly did not last long as the democrat party’s Time magazine lashes out in this headline against Conservative American Governor Scott Walker. What do you think? Did this go too far?
