DELAWARE, Ohio (WTVN) -- A Westerville woman faces a number of charges after deputies say she sprayed them with breast milk following an argument at a wedding reception. Deputies received a report of a fight and responded to the Bridgewater Banquet Facility on Sawmill Parkway early Saturday morning. They found 30-year old Stephanie Robinette, who had apparently locked herself inside a car, along with the woman's husband and witnesses who say Robinette got drunk and had struck the man a number of times after an argument. As deputies tried to get Robinette out of the car, she told them she...

Methodist pastors who have defied a church ban on marrying gays were dealt a setback Wednesday when clergy members hearing a church trial found a colleague from Osceola, Wis., guilty of marrying a lesbian couple in 2009. The 13-person jury of clergy members unanimously convicted the Rev. Amy DeLong. They found the 44-year-old not guilty of a second charge of being a "self-avowed practicing homosexual." That vote was 12-1. After the verdicts were announced in Kaukauna, Wis., church officials heard a second round of testimony to help jurors recommend a penalty that could range from suspension to defrocking. Their decision...

A jilted bride-to-be was dragged to safety after threatening to leap from a seventh-story window after her fiancé married another woman, Reuters reported. Dressed in her wedding gown, a college student identified only as Miss Li climbed out on the window ledge of the building in Changchun city in northeast China. According to local TV, the 22-year-old sobbed and swung her legs out the window for about an hour before police officers arrived. Li said she could not live with the fact her fiancé had left her and married another woman just days before their wedding, local TV said. Video:...

Geoffrey Robertson in Fairfax's National Times yesterday: It is an open secret at the Commonwealth Secretariat that they do not want Charles III to be the next head of the Commonwealth when the Queen retires -- they are looking for someone more inspiring. Mandela, once the favourite candidate, is now too old. But there is an even better candidate whose name is being mentioned as an alternative to Charles in due course, namely ex-President Obama, with his Kenyan ancestry (as some believe, Kenyan birth). There are rumours that the palace's refusal to invite him to the wedding was neither oversight...

Off with their hats! It was bigger than the Super Bowl and as tacky as a legion of Elvis impersonators. Most of all, it was disturbingly white. Yesterday's little wedding of William and Kate, a worldwide showcase of dreadful hats, fad diets and an unusually sour, lemon-yellow-clad queen, was designed to prove to the common man that the royals, finally, were down with the people. But from the moment a triumphant Kate tiptoed with her dad onto the red carpet -- yes, she walked an actual red carpet to and from the altar -- I saw not a potential queen....

Instead of spending another day immersed in Middle Eastern names, culture, religion, death and destruction, the world was treated to western culture, etiquette and a Christian gathering in the House of the Lord, to celebrate the marriage of a man and a woman who love one another. It was a beautiful ceremony, in a beautiful setting. It was uplifting. It was a happy, joyous day. I wish the newlyweds a loving and productive life. Queen Elizabeth can take a bow now that the British royal family will be in good hands after she's gone.

We sat down at 9.30am and watched the whole thing until THE KISS four hours later. Didn’t intend to. At my age this history/politics junkie tends towards the cynical and, of course, being a man prefers to maintain a cool mask of disdain while the ladies wax lyrical over weddings and babies. Plus I’m always suspicious of crowds. But the sheer enthusiasm and goodwill of the people who came to watch disarmed my pessimism.

Muslim group claims royal wedding is legitimate terror targetThe royal wedding is a “legitimate target” for a terrorist attack because of Britain’s foreign policy and the invasion of Iraq and Afghanistan, a radical Islamic group has claimed. By Victoria Ward 1:57PM BST 27 Apr 2011 Muslims Against Crusades, which had its application to protest on Friday turned down by police, yesterday urged Muslims to stay away from central London when Prince William marries Kate Middleton and to avoid all means of public transport due to the heightened risk of an attack. I got some good laughs from the following column (slightly edited) that appeared in the Oct. 4 bulletin of St. Lambert Parish in Skokie, Ill., whose pastor is the staunchly pro-life Father Richard Simon. Humorous, but true! Warning: This episode of the Rev. Know-it-all is extremely offensive. It is not about you or anyone you know. Please read the whole article. The Rev. Know-it-all is not opposed to all wedding celebrations. He is not talking about your wedding, which was a triumph of personal sanctity and good taste. He is probably just having a bad day. Dear Rev. Know-it-all, I...

  • Very 'odd': No Royal invites for Blair, Brown .. or Obama (OBAMA = BANNED IN BRITAIN !!!)

Didn't get an invitation to Friday's big event? Well, don't feel too bad--you're in pretty good company. In a snub that's raised some eyebrows in Britain, neither of the country's two most recent former prime ministers received an invite. Also left out are President Obama and first lady Michelle Obama. There's no place for either Tony Blair or Gordon Brown among the 1,900-member congregation, even though the other two living former British leaders, Baroness Margaret Thatcher and Sir John Major, were invited. (Thatcher, 85, has declined, citing her health, but Major will be there.) Adding to the awkwardness, when Prince...

Buckingham Palace today released an edited guest list for Prince William's marriage to Kate Middleton. A glittering list? Not quite -- this royal wedding is no Oscars red carpet. But for celebrity spotters, there will be a few famous names or, as the Palace prefers to call them, people "who may be recognizable to television viewers," to look out for on April 29. As expected, top of the list is singer and musician Elton John, who sang a moving rendition of "Candle in the Wind" at Diana, Princess of Wales's funeral in 1997. Likely to be accompanied by his civil...

A WALT DISNEY FAIRY TALE IN A NON-FAIRY TALE WORLD - The royal wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton is nearly upon us. Cable news channels are ramping up for 24×7 coverage. Brits of all shapes and sizes are busting at the seams, and people around the world who yearn for the days of Princess Diana are coming out of the woodwork like crazy. Why? Think about it: On April 29, millions upon millions of people the world over will watch the wedding of a woman who is only famous because she is marrying a man who is only...

We'll be the first to admit that the oh-so-serious nature of the Royal Wedding can be a bit much. Credit T-Mobile for finding a fun way to poke fun at the hype. The impending nuptials of Prince William and Kate Middleton get spoofed in this two-minute ad featuring look-alikes for Prince Charles, Prince Harry, Queen Elizabeth, Camilla, and, of course, the happy couple. Diplomacy: Well, it's out — the invitation list to the biggest U.K. royal wedding in three decades. A Mustique bartender merited an invite, but it seems the Obamas did not. It's pretty obvious the Brits are sending a message. Sure, the royal wedding is a ceremonial affair, and news that the U.S. president and first lady weren't invited to the nuptials of Prince William and Catherine Middleton on April 30 won't rupture normal diplomatic relations. Still, it's eyebrow-arching, given that U.S. presidents have always been invited up till now. And the slowly leaking list of people who did get invited...

Scotland Yard officers are working urgently to identify the extremists who clashed with police and attacked landmarks on Saturday before they can strike again. Commander Bob Broadhurst, the head of public order for the Metropolitan Police, warned that the anarchists would be "deliberately targeting" the wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton on April 29. "The concern for me is that they do what they did yesterday in central London and divert resources away from my security plan and take our eye off the ball security wise," he said. Ed Miliband, the Labour leader, was under fire last night for...

GILBERT, Ariz. (AP) -- Police say a bride was arrested at her own wedding reception near Phoenix after she kicked a police officer. Police spokesman Hugh White said Monday that officers had to restrain 28-year-old Angela Davito around 9:30 p.m. Saturday after she became disorderly at the suburban Gilbert home where her reception was held.
