BOSTON (CBS) – Steve LeVeille, longtime personality on WBZ NewsRadio 1030, has decided to retire after thirteen years of hosting “The Steve LeVeille Broadcast.” WBZ NewsRadio Director of News and Programming, Peter Casey, made the announcement today. One of Boston radio greats Larry Glick passed away last night at the age of 87. Glick retired from Boston radio in 1992 but in the 60’s, 70’s and 80’s he was a household name with a cult-like following among late night radio buffs with his overnight show reaching close to 40 states and eastern Canada thanks to the powerful, clear-channel WBZ AM 1030’s 50,00watt signal. *Some sad news from MASSACHUSETTS just as we go to press early this Monday morning: Paul Sullivan, the former WBZ (1030) evening talk host, lost his battle with brain cancer Sunday night. Sullivan's fight took a turn for the worse last week, when WBZ released a statement from his family saying that Sullivan was taken off medical treatment and was receiving hospice care at Saints Memorial Medical Center in Lowell.
