Country music star Garth Brooks and his wife, singer Trisha Yearwood, took to social media on Wednesday to urge their fans to donate money to Ukraine, presumably funds in addition to the over $110 billion American taxpayers have sent to Kyiv’s war effort. “We stand with Ukraine, especially the refugees,” Brooks said at the beginning of the video, before his wife added, “There’s a global initiative, and of course, supplies and aid is already spread thin, and this is where you come in. We need your help. We need you to donate.”

My wife got an e-mail today from a friend who is a member of the B Company Warhawks of the California National Guard. The 'Hawks are getting ready to move into Iraq in the near future. They had a great little website going, but the California National Guard ordered them to take it down. I am more than a little bit peeved, because one of the goals of this site was to have the readers stand up and support these troops with something more than a bumper sticker. The warhawks had a wish list of item to make their life...

Support Our Troops. It's more than just a bumper sticker! One of the links under Armed Forces Websites is to the B Company Warhawks out of Los Alamitos, California. This Reserve group, like many others is presently headed to Iraq. These are our friends and neighbors, who just a few months ago were working their civilian jobs and going home to their families every afternoon. Now they are headed off to a country that is at a crossroads between fanatical Islamic terrorists and democracy. I am not sure how these, or any of our military men and women think about...
  • Kerry, Bush not far apart on foreign policy (Liberal spin alert)

On Iraq and many other key foreign policy issues -- such as the Israeli- Palestinian dispute -- what's more notable about the 2004 campaign is how much the two men appear to agree. "In effect, the Kerry position is just, 'We're going to do a more efficient job of running Iraq than this administration.' " "Kerry represents a more traditional internationalist who is certainly interested in maintaining U.S. power in the world but is not prepared to use the kind of ruthless military attack that has come to characterize Bush's drive toward empire," Bennis said.
