The venerable survey company found that 62% of registered Republicans said the year-old invasion by Moscow “represents a critical threat to US vital interests” — the highest proportion of any political affiliation, as just 58% of Democrats and 51% of independents agreed with the statement...The poll released Monday found just 9% of Republicans said the Russia-Ukraine war was “not an important threat at all” to American interests,...

It;s much more than a THREAT to American interests. It has been doing substantial ACTUAL damage to American financial strength as well as very substantial ACTUAL damage to American military readiness and military strength. FACTS!!

By “it” being more than a threat I mean AMERICAN INVOLVEMENT is causing us considerable ACTUAL DAMAGE.

This poll fits with my political theory that Democrats are 100% rotten and Republicans are 70% rotten. But Republicans are worse than Democrats in that they pretend to be an opposition party. Democrats are the real deal.

Other poll shows that >70% of Republicans do not want to send more money and weapons to Ukraine & we should stay out.
To: BenLurkin
Since I can’t find the methodology, I’m thinking cooked poll.

Interesting.
This is a purely political comment, not about whether support for Ukraine is right or wrong
I fear that a vocal segment of the republican base will push our 2024 candidate into a corner, appearing to support Russia or at least appearing weak on foreign policy.
Meanwhile that same base is creating the myth of Biden a a super warrior taking on Russia.
IMHO Biden is the exact opposite and Republicans risk making him look like a strong leader, which he is not.

The radical left Democrats want more money for social programs in Detroit instead of sending military hardware to Ukraine. ;D

Agreed. He is not. The truth is that whatever defense moves are done well will be done by those who know what they're doing. Biden simply agrees and takes the credit. That's the way it works between most presidents and those who work for our defense.

Your stats are good for the common voter—
but on the politician level it is, as another poster pointed out on a different thread, 99.9%+ and 95%+ respectively.
Power tends to corrupt.
