By a 5-4 vote, the U.S. Supreme Court declared that “the harms associated with climate change are serious and well recognized,” and proclaimed carbon dioxide (CO2) the “culpable emission.” In its ruling, the court ordered the Environmental Protection Agency to implement a sweeping CO2 control plan.
