All but three Senate Democrats now openly support infanticide of babies who manage to be born alive despite an attempted abortion.  A total of 60 votes were needed to overcome a promised filibuster, and the measure gained only 53 votes.  But the field of presidential contenders from the Senate are now all on the record.  As the Washington Post notes: All of the announced 2020 Democratic presidential candidates — Sens. Kirsten Gillibrand (N.Y.), Cory Booker (N.J.), Kamala D. Harris (Calif.), Amy Klobuchar (Minn.), Elizabeth Warren (Mass.) and Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) — voted "no." The leader of the Black Lives Matter 757 group was taken into custody by Virginia Beach police Saturday night shortly after kicking off the “Shut Down the Oceanfront 3.0” protest rally. It is unclear what, if any, charges Japharii Jones faces. The march continued without him. Protesters gathered Saturday night at 1307 Atlantic Avenue before heading north after 8:30 p.m. There was a large police presence in the area, with officers trying to keep protesters out of the street as they walked through the resort area with signs.

A Virginia man lost his job with a leading national naval manufacturer after refusing to take off his “Trump 2020” hat at a safety meeting prior to a shift, according to local reports. Dave Sunderland spent about eight years working at Newport News Shipbuilding, a division of Huntington Ingalls Industries, which is the only manufacturer of U.S. Navy aircraft carriers and one of just two firms that produce nuclear-powered submarines. Despite company policies prohibiting campaigning and political clothing, Sunderland told the Daily Press newspaper in Virginia that he’d worn Trump hats over the past few years without incident and had...

A sizable portion of the “misinformation” released by the Trump White House originates from stories that first appear on Fox News, CNN media critic Brian Stelter told Yahoo News. “The Fox-Trump feedback loop is unlike anything we’ve seen in media before,” Stelter said. “There’s never been anything like this. ... He gets swamped by misinformation.” While critics have decried Fox News as taking orders from the White House, it’s actually the network that tells Trump what to say, according to Stelter. “A lot of what [Trump] is saying is coming straight from ‘Fox & Friends’ and is coming straight from...

A string of moving trucks was spotted in Manhattan’s Upper West Side on Saturday, according to Guardian Angels founder Curtis Sliwa. “The mass evacuation of Upper West Siders from NYC is in full effect,” he told the New York Post. Sliwa blamed the city’s decision to house hundreds of homeless people in the neighborhood’s hotels for the exodus. “The moment I walked out on my block, near Central Park West, there was a moving truck. I asked where you going, and they said, ‘Virginia.’ They told me, ‘Curtis, first the pandemic hit us and now the quality of life is...

The Virginia Senate passed a new bill that would weaken sentencing for assaulting a police officer, the Associated Press reported Wednesday. The bill would strike down Virginia's six-month mandatory minimum sentence for striking an officer and provide judges the discretion to lower charges to a misdemeanor in less severe cases. Despite vehement opposition from Republicans, Democratic lawmakers fast-tracked the passage of the bill with a party-line vote. Republican members argued that the bill undercuts police officers who are confronting a nationwide crime wave. The new legislation follows Virginia governor Ralph Northam's (D.) administration's recent decisions to grant parole to convicted...

Last week’s Democratic convention sought to make four points: Joe Biden is a decent man, Donald Trump is horrible, the president bungled the pandemic and Mr. Biden would have handled it better because he grasped the threat from the start. Whatever you think of the first three, the last is a fabrication. But the former vice president likes to say it anyway. In June he claimed President Trump “did not listen to guys like me back in January saying we have a problem, a pandemic is on the way.” In May Mr. Biden said, “If he had listened to me...

Richard Spencer, neo-Nazi, white supremacist, and organizer of the infamous 2017 Charlottesville riots, announced yesterday on Twitter that he will be voting for Joe Biden in the upcoming 2020 election.A Twitter user asked Spencer if he will be voting for Biden or sitting out the election, given his belief that “Biden/Kamala will be tougher on crime/BLM than Trump.†Spencer responded, “I plan to vote for Biden and a straight democratic ticket. It’s not based on ‘accelerationism’ or anything like that; the liberals are clearly more competent people.”Although Spencer claims that his endorsement is about competence and not ideology, his...

Last week, Virginia's Commissioner of Health said he would mandate a coronavirus vaccination. But a Virginia delegate is working to make sure people’s religious liberties are not violated by an expected coronavirus vaccine. Republican Delegate Wendell Walker is co-sponsoring a bill that would create a religious exemption to a coronavirus vaccine. House Bill 5016, introduced during the current special session, “eliminates the authority of the Commissioner of Health to require immunization of individuals who object to such administration on religious grounds,” according to Walker. (This follows last week’s announcement that Dr. Norman Oliver, Virginia’s Commissioner of Health, that when a...

A federal appeals court upheld the convictions of two white supremacists involved in the deadly 2017 Unite the Right rally in Charlottesville, Va. but also determined that parts of a federal anti-riot law was too vague. The 4th Circuit Court of Appeals ruled Monday that Benjamin Drake Daley and Michael Paul Miselis, members of the white supremacist Rise Above Movement, would see their convictions under the Anti-Riot Act stand because the court found the two had admitted to committing violent acts during the now-infamous rally. The two defendants, who traveled from California along with other members of their group, reportedly...

Jerry Falwell Jr., the son of late evangelical leader Jerry Falwell, revealed Sunday that his wife had an affair with a family friend that sent him into a depression he described as “like living on a roller coaster.” The admission follows Falwell Jr. being placed on indefinite leave from his post as president of Liberty University two weeks ago, after a controversy surrounding a racy Instagram photo he had posted. WASHINGTON: In a 5 to 0 sweep, an AI ‘pilot’ developed by Heron Systems beat one of the Air Force’s top F-16 fighter pilots in DARPA’s simulated aerial dogfight contest today. “It’s a giant leap,” said DARPA’s Justin (call sign “Glock”) Mock, who served as a commentator on the trials. AI still has a long way to go before the Air Force pilots would be ready to hand over the stick to an artificial intelligence during combat, DARPA officials said during today’s live broadcast of the AlphaDogfight trials. But the three-day trials show that AI systems can credibly maneuver an...
