I'm looking at buying an AR-10T but live in CA. It seems all info I find says you can't own a weapon with a detachable magazine and a pistol grip. The new bushmasters AR-15's have a lower receiver with the magazine well blocked off and a 10 round magazine welded in. Is there any law stating you can't have a qualified gunsmith weld the magazine (six round) in the lower receiver so it functions the same as a these new CA legal lower receivers?
