Melania Trump (born Melanija Knav on April 26, 1970 in Sevnica, Yugoslavia) is a Slovenian jewelry designer and former model. Melania grew up when Slovenia was a part of communist Yugoslavia. Her mother, Amalija Knav, was a fashion designer. Melania began her modeling career at age 16 and when she was 18, she signed with a modeling agency in Milan.
