WASHINGTON -- A Fort Worth congresswoman wants manufactured and mobile homes to come equipped with weather radios. Congresswoman Kay Granger's proposal comes after this week's deaths of at least six people in flooding in North Texas. The Fort Worth Republican is co-sponsoring legislation requiring that every manufactured home be supplied with a weather radio. The radio would automatically carry emergency broadcasts of the National Weather Service. The requirement would be part of the federal manufactured home construction and safety standards.
