NASHVILLE - House Speaker Pro Tem Lois DeBerry, who has said questions surrounding an annual conference focusing on issues of importance to blacks is "killing me," has ordered an audit of the event's finances. Barbara Nance, director of the General Assembly's Office of Minority Affairs, said Friday that she did not know when results of the audit would be available.
