CORDOVA, Tenn. — Do you remember “Chauncys Chance?” It’s a story about a good Samaritan who helped a young teenager raise hundreds of thousands of dollars through GoFundMe. WHBQ shared Chauncy Black’s story in 2016. Over the weekend, deputies said, that same teen was arrested for a shooting that killed a man in Cordova, Tennessee. That changed when the U.S. 6th Circuit Court of Appeals a few weeks ago upheld the 2014 ruling by U.S. District Court Judge Timothy...

    04/04/2014 10:30:37 AM PDT · by markomalley · 22 replies
A federal judge says he will strike down Ohio's voter-approved ban on gay marriage, meaning the state must recognize marriages of gay couples who legally wed elsewhere. Judge Timothy Black made the statement Friday following final arguments in a lawsuit that challenged the constitutionality of the marriage ban. He says he'll issue the ruling April 14 prohibiting Ohio officials from enforcing the ban, which he says violates constitutional rights to equal protection and due process. Black's ruling will not mean Ohio has to allow couples to marry in the state. Attorneys for the state had argued that it's Ohio's sole...
