A Victoria police officer accused of using excessive force during a Dec. 11 traffic stop was fired Monday, Jan 5. Nathanial Robinson was placed on administrative leave while an internal and criminal investigation took place after the 23-year-old officer tased a 76-year old Victoria man twice. Victoria Police Chief J.J. Craig said it was determined that Robinson violated three departmental policies; conduct and performance, use of force and arrest without a warrant. Two Rio Grande Valley natives are facing a series of child abuse charges after being accused of tasing their 9-year-old son, locking him a closet and other crimes. Fort Bend County Sheriff's Office deputies arrested Jorge Luis Estrella and Aide Aracely Estrella on child abuse charges late last week. The two Brownsville natives moved to the Houston area where they're now accused of shocking the boy with a Taser, hitting him with a hanger, burning him repeatedly and locking in a closet under the stairs.
