Ames, Iowa — Political organizer Peter Singleton tells National Review Online that Sarah Palin will likely launch a presidential campaign by the end of September. “I believe that she will run,” he says. “I can’t see her sitting this election out.” Palin, a former Alaska governor, is scheduled to address a tea-party rally on September 3 in south-central Iowa. NEW YORK MediaNews Group reported a net loss of $3.6 million for the quarter. According to The Denver Business Journal, the company recorded $208.4 million in revenue compared to $184.7 million for the same quarter last year. MediaNews' earnings from the Denver Newspaper Agency, a joint operating agreement between MediaNews and E.W. Scripps, declined 85% to $1.17 million. For the same quarter last year, MediaNews reported earnings of $7.6 million. The decline is attributed to weak advertising revenue, higher newsprint prices, increased circulation, and higher benefits costs.

These militants say seasonal greetings reflect the secular siege on a holiday that rightly belongs to Christians. But the real war on Christmas was fought almost two centuries ago. Although the Rev. Jerry Falwell, television host John Gibson and the American Family Association might deny it, their side won. Christmas today is an inextricable part of U.S. public life, celebrated on TV specials, welcomed in...
