On Monday, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) posted details of a no bid contract with weapons manufacturer Sig Sauer, worth $4.5 million over the next five years. When Knoxville Police Chief David Rausch announced in late January that the department would no longer use the .40-caliber Glock pistol that officers have carried since 2002, he didn’t mention any problems with the gun. Rausch said the replacement gun, a .45-caliber Sig Sauer, had more stopping power than the .40-calibers. Testing among officers also revealed they were more accurate using the Sig Sauer, he said.

Saw one of these at a gun show today, and after researching it, sadly see they are only making 1776 of them. As I am currently not working, I will not be able to grab one now. Curious if anyone has one.....I am not usually into these types of guns, but I must say the "Don't Tread on Me" insignia could be in no better place than on a gun. Simply sweet.

As you know, the Sig-Sauer P232 has a European-style release (is located at bottom of grip). After I move back the release, I then still have to pull the magazine out by hand. It doesn't fall out itself by gravity. Why is the magazine designed this way? Is it true only for the P232, or does it apply to ALL guns that have European-style releases? Why couldn't it be designed so that the magazine does fall out by itself? I did a Google search but saw no discussion on this matter.
