Check out Sig Sauer's two new beautiful pistols in honor of the Tea Party (I would think) and the Founding Fathers. Very nice.

The description from Sig (you were correct to assume the TEA party connection):

"Inspired by the Tea Party movement, adorned with beautiful nickel accents, and inscribed with the insignia that proudly flew on the flag that took us to battle throughout the Revolutionary War. This limited edition P226 is a must have for SIG SAUER shooters and will be available at you SIGnificant Dealer by the end of May. Limited production run of 1776.

This limited edition P226 ships with both a Gadsden bumper sticker and patch."

MSRP for the 9mm = $1,200"

Cool pistol, thanks for posting - sure wish I had an extra 1,200 bucks!

Nice but alas my masters in Sacramento will not allow me to buy one. I should move to VA so I could get one of these and a license plate to match.

My brother did and I would follow him in a minute but my wife will not leave California, at least not yet.

The Liberty is a sweet little pistol for those who need something unobtrusive. It’s a close copy of the single action Colt Mustang.

Hope I didn’t step on your post, but they are too pretty not to show! I had a 226 and a 229 but they were lost in a tragic boating accident!! ;(

HA! I saw those license plates yesterday. How long do you think they’ll last before someone gets offended?

These are very fine crafted tools worthy of the price. I have a German built P220 in .45ACP, most accurate pistol I own with the exception of maybe a Ruger .22 standard.
The only .380 I own is an old but serviceable Iver Johnson Pony, its basically in appearance a mini 1911 style pistol, I rarely see any for sale what with the more modern .380's available.
I may work on a new load this winter of some all copper bullets for that .380, the only reason I havn't done any reloading for that caliber is that it requires much more precise loads as it uses very small amounts of powder, a digital scale is necessary I believe.
Another factor is of course its stopping power and when a person lives in a climate where people wear heavy clothing it does make for a different decision to be made about a better caliber, thus it basically is purely a backup for me as I live in Alaska.

Oh I’m so jealous! I would LOVE to live in AK, but I’m too much of a wuss.

Great point about people wearing heavier clothing and needing something with better stopping power. Never thought of it that way as I live in AZ and the heaviest clothes we wear are maybe sweaters?

I’m looking for a new piece myself for concealed carry. Lugging around a Kimber subcompact .45 but the frame is full steel and it is heavier than hell. Hubby found the new Sig Sauer sub that is coming out competing with the Kahr for size and weight and that’s how we stumbled upon these 2 beauties...Looks like something I might be interested in. However it’s only in 9 right now and I would rather have it in .40 so I might have to wait a little while.

I am a strong supporter for the .40S&W, the only drawback with it is reloading cases fired from an unsupported barrel, it leaves a weak spot in the case, but almost all modern barrels are fully supported and aftermarket barrels for the early Glocks are cheap.
I have a Glock 23, nice size for carry, lots of capacity, but for me my prime choice for my locality is my Glock 20 in 10mm. reason is I have more of a problem with four legged critters like black bears and its actually better because of its control factor than something really heavy like my Ruger Redhawk .44 mag.
If you can try out the .40 and the 10mm, I believe the Glock 29 is a mid sized pistol for the 10mm.

Great! Thanks for the recommendations - I will definately check those out. Glock has a great reputation and isn’t too pricey.

I loved my Springfield XD-40 subcompact until it fell into the ocean during a recent helicopter ride.

The weight of the barrel brought follow-up shots quickly and naturally back on target, and the passive grip safety allows for an extra degree of security without any additional steps - just draw, aim and fire.

Man, I wish I had that gun back. I am now completely unarmed.
