I attended a counter-rally in San Francisco. It was great. I have pics that are being sent to the Protest Warriors web site and they will be posted soon. For anyone who wants to get involved see the http://protestwarrior.com/ website. We are a conservative group that will try to be at all antiwar protests to counter a.n.s.w.e.r. (the communist peace organization). If anyone knows where I can post the pics, I will post them online. I don't know how long untill Protest Warriors will get them posted. I have some great pics.

Thousands of anti-war demonstrators marched across San Francisco on the first day of spring Saturday, joining millions around the world in the peace movement's biggest showing since the Iraq war began a year ago.

Stretching from Dolores Park to Civic Center, the San Francisco protest was upbeat and defiant, as many marchers said they felt reinvigorated by seeing kindred spirits in opposition to the war and claimed that they had predicted a year ago that no weapons of mass destruction would be found in Iraq.

SAN FRANCISCO - (KRT) - Anti-war protesters converged on downtown streets Friday to mark the anniversary of the U.S. invasion of Iraq, making noise without creating the chaos of a year ago. Last year, thousands of people nearly shut down the city, blocking freeway entrances and major streets and resulting in 2,300 arrests over three days of angry demonstrations. Protesters were not out in such force Friday. A total of 19 arrests were made, said Dewayne Tully, spokesman for the San Francisco Police Department. Six people were arrested for obstructing an entrance and trespassing at Bechtel headquarters. Later, police arrested...

SAN FRANCISCO, March 19 (Reuters) - Police arrested 18 protesters in San Francisco marking the first anniversary of the U.S. invasion of Iraq on Friday, a spokeswoman said. Several hundred demonstrators marched down San Francisco's main Market Street and others gathered in front of the worldwide headquarters of Bechtel, the privately held engineering firm involved in Iraq reconstruction projects. A few people chained themselves together with plastic piping. Others played drums and sang. "Bechtel out of Iraq," read one sign. "Shut down the war profiteers," another sign declared. A police spokeswoman said those arrested were charged with blocking the street...

The City may be working on a 10-year plan to end homelessness, but so far, there is no end to the lawsuits surrounding the issue. While Mayor Gavin Newsom's Care Not Cash legislation awaits a decision from the appeals court, five homeless people have filed suit against The City's Department of Human Services over a plan that would make homeless people pay $41 a month for utilities in emergency shelters. "The very idea of charging homeless people for heat and water at an emergency shelter is repugnant," said Oren Sellstrom, the attorney representing the homeless group. The complaint, which was...

Same Sex Couple, Married in San Francisco Last Month, Goes Through Nasty Divorce - SAN FRANCISCO — A gay couple, married in last month's frenzy of same-sex weddings in San Francisco, has filed for what is believed to be the country's first same-sex divorce. Lawyers for the newlyweds, identified only as John and Gary, said the couple cited "irreconcilable differences" as grounds for the divorce. The couple appeared outside city hall late Tuesday afternoon with their attorneys, who spoke to a gathering of reporters. "While both our clients entered into matrimony with the highest of hopes for a long and...

The most troubling aspect of the city of San Francisco's insistence on granting marriage licenses to gay couples was the utter lawlessness of the action. Mayor Gavin Newsom had ordered City Hall to grant the licenses, and 4,161 gay couples from around the United States have been married in the city since Feb. 12.

First of three parts At 2 a.m. on Oct. 24, 2001, two blacked-out Chinook helicopters carrying Laconia native Master Sgt. John Bolduc and nine other Green Berets dropped from a star-packed sky into northeastern Afghanistan. The men carried six months of supplies and simple orders: Link up with the Northern Alliance and deliver the vengeance of America. In many ways, their secret mission represented the aspirations of all Americans reeling from the previous month’s terrorist attacks in New York, Pennsylvania and Washington. The nation stood united. Patriotism soared. An angered nation spoiled for revenge. Now, here stood soldiers from the...

WHAT RULES THE RULE OF LAW? Arnold Schwarzenegger rode in to the California governor’s mansion last November on the white horse of reform. The state was in a full-blown economic crisis, hung over from a spending binge, and reeling from a badly managed power crisis. Arnold’s moral compass was thought to be a bit shaky, but like Bill Clinton before him, he safely ducked in under the “it’s the economy, stupid!” banner. During the campaign, Arnold, in typical nuanced language, said he was okay with homosexual domestic partnerships, but against “gay” marriage. Now he’s changed his tune, seemingly blind to...

(CNSNews.com) - Conservative groups are praising the California Supreme Court for finally taking a stand against anarchy by stopping San Francisco from issuing marriage licenses to same-sex couples. In a unanimous ruling on Thursday, the court ordered San Francisco Mayor Gavin Newsom to stop what he's been doing since Feb. 12. "While it is disappointing, to say the least, that it has taken a month for this chaos to be stopped, the court's order is without question a victory for the rule of law and the role of family in American life," said Focus on the Family Chairman Dr. James...

Lawlessness in California Posted: March 11, 20041:00 a.m. Eastern © 2004 WorldNetDaily.com I'm glad that Mayor Nuk'em (Newsom) in San Francisco, and other opportunistic mayors across the nation, have set an example for all of us. They've decided that it's OK for citizens and officials to ignore the laws we don't like, and instead act the way we wish the law was written, in a manner that furthers our personal agenda. The mayors and supervisors who have take these courageous actions have opened the door to increased freedom for each and every one of us! I for one especially dislike the tax...

The case, brought by California Attorney General Bill Lockyer, was supported by traditional-family defenders who also had filed a separate suit to stop the city from issuing the licenses. The decision came as Massachusetts lawmakers gave preliminary approval to a constitutional amendment banning same-sex marriage but allowing civil unions, which grant nearly all the rights and...
