The legal battle over same-sex marriage in San Francisco moved into a new phase Friday as couples who were left stranded at City Hall, and others who were awaiting wedding dates, sued to overturn the state laws that prohibit them from marrying.

" ... news conference hosted by the American Civil Liberties Union."

Which part of "marriage consists of one man and one woman" does the ACLU not understand?

Gee, the rule of law stands? Where's the Ninth Circuit when you need them?

Yep, think the lawyers will make millions going after homo marriages as they did with tobacco? Who do they sue, who has the deep pockets? Or will they drop this and go after fast food. McDonald's is ripe for fleecing.

The next time a bank is robbed I'll sue the bank because I didn't get my share.

Oh THIS is a *cough* good precedent.

They shouldn't have been waiting to get "married" because it's illegal in the first place.

These poor stranded lesbians! They had to go back home and resume living in sin. How can society be so cruel?

wow... can I sue to overturn the murder statutes?

I mean, there are lots of people alive today for no reason other than it was illegal for me to kill them.

No problem.

Just so long as Newsom has to pay, personally, for every penny of it.

If anyone wins against McDonalds then I am going to sue the Supermarkets that run "club" cards - They've been compiling data on all the harmful food and drink they've been selling me and never once warned me of the dangers of eating 200 twinkies a week and drinking 50 litres of whiskey.

Think I have a case?

Homosexual Agenda Ping.

Need I say - more from the Tsunami of Sewage(tm)?

The ACLU is really making a name for itself. How can Bob Barr affiliate himself with such scum?

Let me know if anyone wants on/off this pinglist.

I am consistently amazed by the presence of homosexual advocates on this issue...just how is it, friends, that we are supposed to take anything that they say seriously? I, personally, almost feel embarassed FOR them every time they open their mouths to complain about "rights" being taken away...right that they, as a group, have never had in the first place.

Let us get one thing straight, here: Homosexuality is not a religion, it is not a race, it is not a political entity, and it is not the definition of any kind of personal belief system. It is a label given to people who wish to pervert nature and engage in wholly inappropriate behaviors...it is a choice that they make to engage in said activity.

Just who is it, then, that is responsible for granting them any sort of protection? Just how is it that they have the AUDACITY to demand such consideration? I believe that, before they won their disgusting sodomy case, their only request was "leave well enough alone in the bedroom, you don't belong in here!"

Well look what we have here! We have left well enough alone in the bedroom (though most certainly not by choice) and now they see that they can try and demand more.

And more.

And more.

Mark my words, friends. It will not end, here. I am willing to bet that, eventually, they will impose same-sex education on our CHILDREN in the schools. After all, that is the twisted version of "equality" that they follow!
