A man has been sent to prison after he attempted to force his way into a female colleague’s life by breaking into her house and framing her husband for downloading child pornography. Ilkka Karttunen, who was born in Finland, became obsessed by a co-worker and hoped that he could forge a relationship with her if he could break up her marriage, jurors at Basildon Crown Court were told. DELTA — A registered sex offender is running for the Delta County Board of Education. Delta Police Department spokesman Bill Sowell confirmed that school board candidate Dale Haag is registered as a sex offender with his department because of a 1987 conviction in Orange City, Iowa. Sowell said he did not know the nature of Haag’s conviction for sexual assault except that it occurred in Sioux County, Iowa. PIKEVILLE - On Pikeville College's Internet site, Jermaine Hampton is listed as a member of the school's football team: a 6-foot-4, 264-pound defensive lineman and tight end from Naples, Fla. Hampton, who is on partial scholarship, also is on a different sort of list: the Kentucky sex offender registry. But that information is not posted on the college's Web site or anywhere on the private Eastern Kentucky campus because school officials decided to keep quiet about Hampton's past.
