The Washington Post has amended at least a dozen reports investigating the genesis and fallout of the Steele dossier, an opposition research project that is almost certainly a work of total fiction if not Russian counterintelligence propaganda. Two articles in particular, one from 2017 and one from 2019 , have undergone significant edits, with major portions of the reporting removed entirely. Both stories also bear lengthy editor’s notes.
