WASHINGTON, D.C. — House Republicans have requested a congressional recess following another failed round of voting for the next Speaker of the House so they can frantically binge-watch old episodes of Schoolhouse Rock and figure out what they're supposed to be doing. McCarthy reportedly told aides, "There's got to be something in these ancient songs. Hold all my calls! I refuse to talk to any constituents until I am Speaker!" Republicans first reviewed the classic song "Three-Ring Government" but found it unsettling. They learned a lot but all comparisons to a three-ring circus felt strangely offensive. "We are not a...

George Newall, the co-creator of the educational musical cartoon series “Schoolhouse Rock,” has died. He was 88. Newall’s wife, Lisa Maxwell, told the New York Times he died of cardiopulmonary arrest Nov. 30 in a New York hospital. Born June 17, 1934, the advertising executive and jazz pianist was the last living founding member of “Schoolhouse Rock.” The children’s series — which ran from 1973 to 1984 before being revived in the 1990s — set math, civics, science and grammar lessons to music. The idea stemmed from a conversation Newall, then a creative director at the McCaffrey & McCall advertising...

Acting as prosecutor, judge, and jury, the National Labor Relations Board is just the tip of the iceberg of government agencies wielding far too much power. “No jokes allowed. Ever.” Apparently, this is the new Twitter rule, as The Federalist national news publication faces a joint administrative and judicial broadside at the National Labor Relations Board. What the publication is going through constitutes just one of the many costly, silly, and arguably unconstitutional quasi-judicial proceedings underway throughout the federal bureaucracy.A recent case before the NLRB — in which the agency served as legislator, police, prosecutor, and judge — helps illustrate...

Dianne confirmed the news to The Hollywood Reporter on Tuesday morning. While the charismatic and hilarious Sheldon boasted an impressive résumé that included serving as the music director and sidekick on The Merv Griffin Show for 18 years; releasing 23 albums as a bandleader...

From http://LouderWithCrowder.com How does a bill become a law? How does a law cause so much controversy like in North Carolina or Georgia. Why are the LGBTQAAI warriors so angry at the transgender bathroom bills? Allow trans-gender bill to explain.

Men and women are different. They have different reproductive parts. Different hormones. Therefore they've tended to use different bathrooms. Different locker rooms. Because, well... they're different! But what about those gender-confused individuals who aren't quite sure if they're a Tommy or a Tammy? What happens to them? Fortunately we found one brave Bill, who would journey to the capitol to become Jill. Thank you, Schoolhouse Rock! VIDEO: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rcUJgbWrM64

Got to admit...pretty accurate... Obama Schoolhouse Rock

IJReview picked up on one of the funniest SNL sketches in recent (a.k.a. post-original cast) history. It was a Schoolhouse Rock! parody that aired last night, mocking Obama’s latest immigration-related executive order and complete disregard for the constitutional process: It starts out with the familiar boy climbing the steps of Capitol Hill and asking what kind of bill is on the Hill with him. The bill responds with a jingle that he is an “immigration bill” and that he hopes he can be passed into law someday. Cue the President shoving the bill down the stairs before inviting his buddy,...

But I wonder who that sad 700 gazillion barrel plume of black liquid is out there in the Gulf? I'm just a spill. Yes, I'm only a spill. And I'm bearing down on Capitol Hill. Well, it's a long, long way Until BO can leave this morass. It's a long, long wait While He looks to kick someone's a**. But I know I'll bring Him ruin someday At least I hope and pray that I...

But I wonder who that sad crumpled scrap of paper is? I'm just a Stimulus bill. Yes, I'm only a big fat pork barrel bill. And I'm sitting here on The Messiah’s Capitol Hill. Well, it's a long, long journey To the capital-less shanty. It's a long, long wait While I'm in Harry Reid’s committee, But I know I'll be a criminal law someday At least I hope...
