The family of a 16-year-old University High School girl has filed a lawsuit against the Monongalia County Board of Education, a district bus driver and five male students regarding a reported school bus assault. The victim and her father -- who filed on her behalf -- brought the lawsuit via their attorney Pete Dinardi on Monday afternoon at Monongalia County Circuit Court. A teenage driver hit two kindergarten students Wednesday morning as they were attempting to board a bus, killing one child and critically injuring her cousin, authorities said. Ana Maria Sola, 6, died at Rowan Regional Medical Center. Her cousin, Brenda Sola, 5, was at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem with fractures and a head injury. An Ohio school bus driver has been charged with a misdemeanor in a Sept. 30 accident in Circleville. The frightening moments were caught on tape. Police released a surveillance tape, recorded aboard the bus that shows what happened. Investigators said the bus went off the right side of the road.
