Christmas ought to be a time when people focus on what they can do to live in peace, Cincinnati Mayor Mark Mallory said. "Certainly, we need peace in the city of Cincinnati," he said Sunday. That need was brought home with particular force on Saturday, when the city recorded its 82nd and 83rd homicides of the year, a modern record. "It's terrible. It's tragic," Mallory said.
