Human-Chimp Similarities: Common Ancestry or Flawed Research? by Jeffrey Tomkins, Ph.D.* In 2003, the human genome was heralded as a near-complete DNA sequence, except for the repetitive regions that could not be resolved due to the limitations of the prevailing DNA sequencing technologies.[1] The chimpanzee genome was subsequently finished in 2005 with the hope that its completion would provide clear-cut DNA similarity evidence for an ape-human common ancestry.[2] This similarity is frequently cited as proof of man's evolutionary origins, but a more objective explanation tells a different story, one that is more complex than evolutionary scientists seem willing to admit...

I've been hearing rumors for a couple of weeks now that New Orleans Mayor C. Ray Nagin is considering running for Governor. I finally found a news outlet that confirms this rumor, thanks to freelance journalist Jason Berry, who appeared on Informed Sources last night to predict that Nagin will run for Governor. Hat tip to Library Chronicles. As an aside, is this Jason Berry the author of Amazing Grace, an account of Charles Evers' run for Governor in Mississippi back in 1972? But back to the issue at hand - Ray Nagin running for Governor of Louisiana. This makes...

Former US president Bill Clinton still has the capacity to hold his own, as was seen when he was confronted by a man, who accused him of being an embarrassment to the whole country, during a stroll in Central Park. "You were an embarrassment to the office of commander-in- chief," the man reportedly taunted Clinton, reports The New York Daily Times. However, being the perfect diplomat, Clinton said: "Oh, really? I think I did a helluva job.... I'll admit I misled people about my personal life. And I have even apologized for it, but I never misled the people about...
  • Armor and Common Sense (vanity)

I am not a vetera, but I like learning things; after talking with folks who have served in Iraq I have seen new light shed on the subject of armor. 1)Better armor on a vehicle doesn't ensure the gunner on the vehicle will be saved 2)in WWII, and Vietnam almost every form of fighting had to be upgraded. This common sense is nice to keep in mind when the critics speak, if any of you have any other ideas to share, id like to hear.
