Palestine denies deal with Israel, Egypt to extract gas off Gaza Israeli media said Palestinians agree with Israel, Egypt to develop gas field off Gaza A Palestinian source has denied reports about an agreement with Egypt and Israel to extract gas off the Gaza Strip. “These reports published by Israeli media are inaccurate,” the source told Anadolu Agency on Wednesday. The source, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said current talks on extracting gas off Gaza are between Egypt and Palestine. 'The talks don't include Israel. We will not pay Israel to extract our gas. This is unacceptable,' he added....

How a Gaza Marine Deal Could Benefit Palestinians, Israelis and the Region Rare progress on a 23-year-old project shows that energy is increasingly becoming a focus for potential win-win agreements in the East Mediterranean. Amid today’s dismal Israeli-Palestinian context, positive developments have been in short supply. However, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s June announcement of preliminary approval for the development of the Gaza Marine gas fields provided a rare glimpse of a potential win-win opportunity. For the Palestinians, it could provide a much-needed boost to their lagging economy and the cash-strapped Palestinian Authority (PA). On the Israeli side, it allows the...

Israel Is Planning an ‘Inland Suez Canal’ Across Its Desert. At What Cost? Israel's planned high-speed train to Eilat: dream or potential environmental train wreck? In theory, it sounds amazing: a high-speed train to Eilat, the country’s southernmost city on the shores of the Red Sea. This was attested to by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in his recent Knesset speech enumerating the new government’s goals, in which he described it as a major national project: “The mission is to develop the country’s infrastructures, including developing a high-speed rail that will travel hundreds of kilometers per hour and connect the country...

JERUSALEM, June 18 (Reuters) - Israel gave preliminary approval for the development of a gas field off the Gaza Strip on Sunday while saying it would require security coordination with the Palestinian Authority and neighbouring Egypt. If concluded, the agreement would be a boost for the cash-strapped Palestinian economy. Announcing the move on the Gaza Marine project, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's office said progress would hinge on "preserving the State of Israel's security and diplomatic needs". While Egypt and Israel have been producing gas in the eastern Mediterranean for years, the Gaza Marine field, about 30 km (20 miles) off...

A fiend strangled a woman from behind – causing her to black out – in a heinous, apparently unprovoked attack in the East Village last week, cops said. The 25-year-old woman was walking near Houston Street and Avenue D around 4:10 a.m. on Oct. 22 when an unidentified approached and strangled her from behind, police said. The sudden attack caused the victim to fall to the ground and black out briefly, authorities said. When the woman got back on her feet, her assailant ran off toward Avenue C, police said.

An 8-year-old Virginia boy who died after falling from the roof of a moving vehicle was “car surfing” while his older sister was driving, police said. New footage reviewed by Hampton police revealed that the minor, who was not named, had climbed out of the window of a 2006 Ford Explorer while under the supervision of Enashia Futrell, 18, on Oct. 2. As the older sister drove around an apartment complex on Golden Gate Drive, the boy stood on the roof of the car, pretending to surf the streets for 1,000 feet until he was launched from the vehicle, 13...

Well, I have scoured a half dozen web sites. I confess that I, perhaps, am not good at searching the Internet. But how many key words would one have to know and use to search for a mailing address ??!! So, would anyone like to make fun of me, at least, while you, please provide a valid USPS mailing address for the celebrated talk show and TV personality, Sean Hannity?

This is a video of Bascom Lamar Lunsford (fiddle and vocals) and three other musicians (guitar and banjo) singing a song called "Doggett Gap" recorded in Ashville, North Carolina on October 7th, 1928. "Doggett Gap" seems very similar to the more famous "Cumberland Gap", so it could simply be a variation of Cumberland Gap with an alternate title. • Tommy Jarrell: Cumberland Gap (1983)

The staff of the New York Times spent the morning patiently waiting by the computer, waiting for the call from Hamas to see what the terrorists would like to have printed on the front page today. "No fingers on the keyboard until Hamas calls!" declared Chief Editor Joe Khan. "We don't post a single word unless we've sourced it directly from the terrorists on the ground - understood?" At long last, the Zoom app began ringing with a phone call from a Hamas spokesman. "Hello! Allahu Ackbar! Okay, what message do you guys want out there?" asked reporter Gene Okerlund....
