When I was channel surfing, I came across this show and it looked and sounded ridiculous. But once you give it a chance, it really draws you in. Contestants (1 named mand and 1 naked woman as a team) are dropped off in a remote and harsh location and are given nothing except 1 item which they can bring along. They must surviive using nothing but those items and their cunning for 21 days. Give it a chance. I am hooked.

A man who fathered 22 kids by 14 different women - earning himself the title 'America's biggest deadbeat dad' - is to get his own reality TV show. It comes after unemployed Orlando Shaw, 33, was filmed boasting outside a Nashville courthouse following a child support hearing, 'the ladies don't like me, they love me.' The interview, recorded by Nashville’s NewsChannel, has since gone viral. It has been estimated that the state of Tennessee pays around $7,000 each month to help support Shaw’s children. He was filmed following a court hearing in which some of his former lovers - and...

So I was looking over the wife’s shoulder while she was watching “Project Runway” on Lifetime TV. During a commercial break, Lifetime aired a promo for a new show that debuts tonight. The promo begins with the familiar Aretha Franklin tune, “I Say a Little Prayer,” playing in the background. A young woman, looking like she works for some sort of escort service, is getting dressed. She oh-so-sexily applies her lipstick and mascara before teasingly stroking her hair. She surveys a rack of clothes before deciding upon a dress that looks very much like lingerie. She puts on a pair...

Whenever the subject turns to the details of the federal budget, most citizens go into snooze mode. However, I have an idea for a reality show which in contrast to most reality shows which are either annoying (Kardashians) or laughable (Amish Mafia) would actually be performing a public service in terms of making the public aware of budget details as well as entertaining. Here is how the "OM WannaB" show would work. Four participants would be chosen from those who would want the power of the head of the Office of Management and Budget. Each of them would be given...

For many candidates, running for office may feel like a season of “Survivor,” the hit reality TV show where contestants build alliances and try to outwit, outplay and outlast one another for the big prize. But for South Florida’s own conservative firebrand, U.S. Rep. Allen West, the comparison is less academic than, well, reality. The Republican congressman stepped off the campaign trail for a brief moment recently to participate in a “Survivor”-like reality TV show filmed in Palm Beach County.

Sarah Palin’s husband, Todd, is among those competing in NBC’s new reality series “Stars Earn Stripes,” the network revealed Tuesday. This is not entirely surprising, given that “SES” exec producer Mark Burnett also exec-produced Sarah’s TLC reality series “Sarah Palin’s Alaska.” And late last year, word around Hollywood was that Sarah and Burnett were pitching a reality series about Todd’s career as a championship snowmobile racer. Apparently, there were no takers. Maybe more surprising, retired Gen. Wesley Clark, the former supreme allied commander in Europe for NATO and a 2004 presidential candidate, is going to host the show with “Entertainment...

I’m a Bristol Palin fan. I think the young Christian woman is a role model for teen-aged girls (and boys) who’ve overcome bad decisions in their lives. Bristol’s backstory will no doubt be familiar to most of those who tune in to her new reality show, “Life’s a Tripp,” which premiers tonight on Lifetime network. She became a single mom at 18 years old, the “highest-profile teen pregnancy of the year,” declared the National Campaign to Prevent Teen and Unplanned Pregnancy. That’s because, unlike the other 440,000 or so teen-age girls who gave birth in 2008, Bristol’s mother was not...

Just two months ago, she accused her mother of horrific abuse in an emotional outpouring on American TV. Her late mother, Susan Barrantes, regularly beat her, the Duchess of York alleged during her reality show Finding Sarah. 'When she used to hit me because I didn't sit on my potty or wouldn't eat, a little vein would come up on the centre of my head near my red hair,' she said, adding that her mother called it the 'sign of the devil' and would shout, 'I'm going to beat that devil out!'

The reality TV show "Police Women of Broward County" is under fire again. Broward Public Defender Howard Finkelstein wants to know if there is any sort of incentive pay or benefits given to deputies who appear on TLC's Thursday night cable program that may taint testimony against his clients. He's demanding that the state attorney and county sheriff reveal the officers' confidential contracts. Spokesmen for the sheriff and state attorney say they don't have the contracts. The state attorney's office and the TV show's lawyer both say a judge should review the legal agreements for any possible conflict. "This is...

In this video, you will see a woman who competed in the 17th season of the reality television show, "The Amazing Race", get smashed by a watermelon. Up tonight on TLC’s Sarah Palin’s Alaska: the former governor is waging war on “anti-hunting hypocrisy.” “See how we fill our freezers and feed our families with home-grown tundra-roaming Alaskan wild game,” wrote Palin on Facebook. “And, PETA, please remember: Alaskans eat, therefore we hunt.” She also indicated that the episode would showcase the potential for oil drilling in Alaska’s Article National Wildlife Refuge. “You’ll also see us hunting at the edge of ANWR,” Palin promised, “where you can see the uninhabited lands that warehouse billions of barrels of American energy supplies underground just waiting for the political will to...

Bryan Nehman of "The Grandy Group" on 630 WMAL (Washington, DC) mentioned this morning that perhaps a reality show should be created in order to depict and get together the moderate Muslims alongside the more radical band and see how they "work out" their differences (much like 'Big Brother' or 'Biggest Loser', etc.) What should we name this hypothetical 'reality show'?

The makers of the hit television reality show “Jon & Kate Plus 8” are producing a new series that easily could be called “Kody & Meri & Janelle & Robyn Plus 15.” “Sister Wives,” a seven-episode series for the TLC network, is the first reality show that follows a polygamist family. Filmmakers are profiling Kody Brown and his three sister wives, a group of fundamentalist Mormons in Utah (the family does not want to reveal the city they live in). The show, which was introduced at the Television Critics Association summer press tour in Beverly Hills Friday, premieres Sept. 26...
