Ex-special counsel Robert Mueller declined or evaded 198 questions during more than five hours of testimony on Capitol Hill on Wednesday. Mueller responded to scores of questions from lawmakers with answers such as, "I will leave the answer to our report," "that is beyond my purview," "I can't speak to that," and "pass," according to a NBC News tracker that monitored Mueller's answers. Mueller testified first in front of the House Judiciary Committee starting at 8:30 a.m. for over three hours before moving on to testify again in front of the House Intelligence Committee. Mueller's second hearing wrapped up at...

The Census Bureau said Monday that it has prepared two versions of the paper and electronic survey for next year: one including the citizenship question and one without it. The government is awaiting a Supreme Court ruling expected in early summer on the validity of the controversial question. Two federal judges have ruled the citizenship question must be removed from the 2020 census and chastised Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross for adding it improperly.

Pastini was the brash ex-Chicago cop who befriended a brothel mogul and spun yarns of a bare-knuckled youth in the Windy City that read like a cross between "Goodfellas" and "The Outsiders." They were one and the same person. He used two names and two Social Security numbers. He kept different driver's licenses and bank accounts under the two names, an ex-wife alleged. The ex-wife - one of four - said in court filings that he kept multiple identities to hide money, and she hinted that he had "trouble with the law." But he might have lived out his days...

I can’t wait for the Democrat presidential debates. So many questions immediately come to mind, although I’m sure they will never be asked, considering that most of the “moderators” will be Democrat operatives with press passes — think George Stephanopoulos, Jake Tapper, Chuck Todd et al. But here are some obvious inquiries for the woke 2020 presidential field: Do you agree with U.S. Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez that climate change will doom the world within 12 years? Given the fact that the U.S. has greatly reduced its carbon emissions even as China, India and much of the rest of the Third...

"Jeopardy!" host Alex Trebek revealed in a YouTube video Wednesday that he has been diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer. Trebek said in the video he was given the health update this week. "Now normally, the prognosis for this is not very encouraging, but I’m going to fight this, and I’m going to keep working," he said. "And with the love and support of my family and friends and with the help of your prayers also, I plan to beat the low survival rate statistics for this disease."

Reporters are supposed to hunt for facts, to search for the truth, and their best tool is a good question. Knowing a good question and knowing how and when to ask it are skills prized by the wisest members of society from Talmudic times in Judea to the philosophers of ancient Greece and China. As Hillel the Elder, the philosopher Socrates, and many other wise thinkers knew, great truths reveal themselves to those who ask good questions. Making a bold statement or throwing an insult or a challenge will get you an opportunity for a photo -- a “photo-op,” but...

President Donald Trump has made himself extraordinarily available to the media in the past number of days. Between Oct. 6 and Oct. 16, Trump gave at least 13 interviews, including eight on television. In addition, he allowed the White House press corps to ask questions on at least 24 occasions, including six impromptu press conferences. In total, he answered almost 300 questions, ABC News counted.

President Trump questioned Saturday morning why the FBI had not provided conservative watchdog group Judicial Watch and others with text messages of former Deputy FBI Director Andrew McCabe, warning he “may have to get involved.” “Why isn’t the FBI giving Andrew McCabe text messages to Judicial Watch or appropriate governmental authorities. FBI said they won’t give up even one (I may have to get involved, DO NOT DESTROY). What are they hiding? McCabe wife took big campaign dollars from Hillary people......,” Trump tweeted Saturday morning. “.....Will the FBI ever recover it’s once stellar reputation, so badly damaged by Comey, McCabe,...

1. Why is the third hand on the watch called the second hand? 2. If a word is misspelled in the dictionary, how would we ever know? 3. If Webster wrote the first dictionary, where did he find the words? 4. Why do we say something is out of whack? What is a whack? 5. Why does "slow down" and "slow up" mean the same thing? 6. Why does "fat chance" and "slim chance" mean the same thing? 7. Why do "tug" boats push their barges? 8. Why do we sing "Take me out to the ball game" when we...

So my daughter brought this home from school. Seems like unusual questions to ask a 1st grader, especially the third question. Would they have asked the same questions while Obama was President? My daughter knows who Trump is but we don’t talk politics with her because she’s 6. She’s being taught about honesty, respect, kindness, responsibility and hard work. Politics have no place at her age. Of course if she has questions I answer in terms & words she understands. To ask these questions seems like indoctrination or propaganda research to me. How would a 6 year old form an...

Complete Headline: Questions for Chelsea since she advocated putting a corrupt serial abuser of women back in the White House Since Chelsea thinks it is appropriate to ask a daughter very personal questions, and since Chelsea is an adult and was very involved in trying to put her parents back in the White House in 2016, here are some questions for her: Do you think your mom was smart enough to know that she should have used government computers and should not have intentionally destroyed documents? Do you believe that your mom should have paid $10 million to produce a...

I have a couple of questions about what isn't in the Memo: 1) The FISA warrant was approved/renewed FOUR different times. Was the same "evidence" brought up in the renewals that was in the original approval or was other info added as time went on? Rep Rafliffe(sp?) was on Fox this morning saying he saw the applications for all four and loosely implied the dossier was the key for all Four. If the Dossier was the main factor in all FOUR then why didn't Memo make that clear. The media is spinning "there was to be more" since it was...

A growing number of virtual currency investors are worried that the prices of Bitcoin and other digital tokens have been artificially propped up by a widely used exchange called Bitfinex, which has a checkered history of hacks and opaque business practices. In December, Bitfinex was subpoenaed by the Commodity Futures Trading Commission, a United States regulatory agency. The news, first reported by Bloomberg on Tuesday and confirmed by a source familiar with the subpoena but not allowed to publicly discuss an ongoing investigation, led to a sell-off in most virtual currencies. -- Didn't know about Bitfinex until reading this article....

More than 100 concerned residents peppered state and local officials Monday for information about the new Interstate 74 Bridge. Moline Mayor Stephanie Acri hosted the event, part of a series of casual meetings to share ideas and air concerns about the city. Experts on site included Ryan Hippen, construction field engineer for the Illinois Department of Transportation, and Danielle Mulholland, I-74 project engineer with the Iowa Department of Transportation. "I don't get tired of talking about this improvement," Hippen said. The basket handle true arch twin bridge is to cost an estimated $1.2 billion, and open late in 2020 after...

New York Rep. Peter King wants special counsel Robert Mueller to come to Congress to explain why the FBI didn’t sound the alarm louder about a deal to sell a company in control of uranium reserves to a Russian company. King said Sunday on Fox News that Mueller, who was FBI director from 2001-2013, has some questions to answer about the deal that saw a Russian state-controlled company buy Uranium One, a company that controlled 20 percent of American uranium reserves. The deal had to be approved by nine American government agencies, including Hillary Clinton’s State Department, and went through...

Authorities revised the timeline of mass shooter Stephen Paddock's actions leading up to the deadliest mass shooting in American history. Parent company of the Mandalay Bay, the hotel in which Paddock perched during the shooting, questioned the new timeline, which says Paddock shot a hotel guard minutes before the mass shooting itself. The new account opens the possibility that the attack may have been mitigated or prevented altogether. A day after authorities revised the timeline of events on the night of the Las Vegas mass shooting, the hotel where the gunman was staying is casting doubt on the changes. Police...
