Durbinization alert: Tons of readers are e-mailing me about NBC News anchor Brian Williams' comments tonight in which he apparently compared the Founding Fathers to modern-day terrorists. The remarks seem to pooh-pooh the story about Iranian president-elect Mahmoud Ahmadinejad's alleged involvement in the 1979 hostage crisis at the U.S. embassy in Tehran. Democrats are not distancing themselves from Sen. Dick Durbin. The Illinois Democrat, fresh from a tearful apology on the Senate floor, is now circulating a fund-raising letter on behalf of the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee. "Dear Friend," the email message begins, "On June 30, the DSCC faces its first big test." I am writing today to express my outrage at the actions of our troops. It has came to my attention recently that our troops have employed the methods of those long gone, yet not forgotten monsters, the Nazis. According to Richard Durbin our troops are taking a page out of the playbook of Hitler. I can see them now, the Muslims all being lined up and forced into trains, no room left to stand, and shipped to camps dotted across the desert.
