Authorities in Illinois are searching for an "armed and dangerous" man after a police officer was shot and killed and another was wounded during a call Wednesday. The officers responded to a Comfort Inn at about 9:40 p.m. "for reported dogs barking in an unattended vehicle which was parked in the parking lot," Bradley Police Chief Donald W. A black Texas woman was shot and killed by a white Fort Worth police officer who was called to the woman's home for a welfare check, authorities said. In a statement, the department said it received a call at 2:25 a.m. reporting an open front door at a residence. MEMPHIS, TN (WMC) - A teen is dead after being shot by a Memphis police officer late Friday night. The MPD officer stopped a car for a broken headlight in the 5700 block of Winchester Road. The officer issued the driver a ticket and let him go. However, the passenger in the car had several warrants for his arrest. The man had called police saying that he had just shot and killed dog that he said had was attacking him. The dispatcher asked the man to return to his home and let police take over once they arrived, Acevedo said. When the officer arrived, the man had the semiautomatic pistol tucked into his waistband, the chief said. The man was told to give up the gun, but instead drew it on the officer, Acevedo said. The officer then drew his gun and fired. He was pronounced dead around 7:45 a.m., Acevedo said.

A Pittsburg police officer shot twice Saturday evening remained on life support and in critical condition Sunday. The officer, 36-year-old Larry Lasater of Pacheco, suffered two gunshot wounds as he chased two robbery suspects on the Delta De Anza trail at about 6 p.m. near Belle Drive and Desrys Boulevard. Pittsburg police Capt. William Zbacnik identified the man who allegedly shot Lasater as 18-year-old Alexander Rashad Hamilton of Antioch.
