Question for FReeper gearheads: I have a beloved '97 Mustang V6 automatic. The speedo and tach work just fine, but both odometers have simultaneously ceased to advance. I am used to British Leyland/ Morris Garage vehicles wherein a cable ran from the transmission case to the back of said devices. None exist on the Mustang, just an electrical connection/wiring to a 'speed sensor' on the housing. What do you think has failed? Please apply Ockham's razor. Has the speed sensor likely failed, or is this a ghastly remove the dash and replace the speedo/tach assembly? Many thanks for your advice.
