<title>[Car Mechanic Vanity] Need FReeper Gear-Head advice on &#x26;#x27;97 Mustang odo- speedo- meter issue</title>
<link>https://freerepublic.com/focus/f-chat/2341119/posts</link>
<description>Question for FReeper gearheads: I have a beloved &#x26;#x27;97 Mustang V6 automatic. The speedo and tach work just fine, but both odometers have simultaneously ceased to advance. I am used to British Leyland/ Morris Garage vehicles wherein a cable ran from the transmission case to the back of said devices. None exist on the Mustang, just an electrical connection/wiring to a &#x26;#x27;speed sensor&#x26;#x27; on the housing. What do you think has failed? Please apply Ockham&#x26;#x27;s razor. Has the speed sensor likely failed, or is this a ghastly remove the dash and replace the speedo/tach assembly? Many thanks for your advice.</description>
