NEWARK, N.J. – Traffic in and out of Newark International Airport was halted Monday night after a plane made an emergency landing because of problems with its nose gear, WNBC-TV reported. The Shuttle America flight from Atlanta to Newark landed at about 6:40pm, after the pilots informed authorities of the technical problem. Authorities told the station that the nose gear had collapsed and that passengers on board the plane were forced to exit the aircraft via emergency chutes.
