"Today, I requested that the Department of Transportation suspend private charter flights to all Cuban airports, including Havana,” Secretary of State Mike Pompeo released in a statement Thursday. “This Administration will continue to target and cut the revenue the Cuban government earns from landing fees, stays in regime-owned hotels, and other travel-related income…The Cuban military and intelligence services own and operate the great majority of hotels and tourism infrastructure in Cuba.” For the record, the late Stalinist dictator’s birthday was August 13th. But fear not! The Castro regime and its mainstream media propaganda auxiliaries instantly got to the bottom of...

It’s been revealed that for the first time the US has successfully confiscated Iranian fuel cargo on the high seas that were deemed in violation of sweeping US-led sanctions on Iran’s energy sector. Recall that in late May Iran delivered five tankers laden with fuel to Venezuela at a moment the US was threatening military blockade in the Caribbean. Maduro sent military jets and warships to escort the Iranian tankers, which both countries hailed as a rare, victorious act of defiance against Washington’s plans. Later in July, when Iran again sent tankers for a second round of deliveries, which the...

Former Vice President Joe Biden remarked in an interview released Thursday that “unlike the African American community, with notable exceptions, the Latino community is an incredibly diverse community.” Biden was addressing the National Association of Black Journalists (NABJ) and National Association of Hispanic Journalists (NAHJ) Joint Virtual Convention. Portions of the interview were aired Wednesday, and the full video was streamed Thursday. “I’m going to look at every single country in the world … this guy [President Donald Trump] is sending them back,” Biden said, promising to extend the Temporary Protected Status (TPS) program on his first day in office...

Florida’s two highest-ranking Cuban-American Republicans are preemptively attacking California Rep. Karen Bass, one of Joe Biden’s potential vice president picks, due to her past work in Fidel Castro’s Cuba with the Venceremos Brigade, a group that has organized annual trips to Cuba for left-leaning Americans since 1969. U.S. Sen. Marco Rubio and Lt. Gov. Jeanette Nuñez criticized Biden for including Bass on his shortlist and said picking her would hurt his electoral prospects with Hispanic voters in South Florida.

California Congresswoman Karen Bass (D) is reportedly in the race to be Joe Biden's running mate. Bass was born both black and a woman, Biden's criteria for picking the person one heartbeat away from the presidency. Biden's affirmative action policy has the finalists doing some last-minute scrambling to get on the ticket. Rep. Bass was on Fox News Sunday with Chris Wallace where she was forced to address comments she made in 2016 mourning the death of communist dictator Fidel Castro. "As Cuba begins nine days of mourning, I wish to express my condolences to the Cuban people and the...

Venezuela will fly 15 tonnes of gold to the United Arab Emirates in coming days in return for euros in cash as the country tries to stay solvent, sources have said. In total, Nicolas Maduro plans to sell 29 tonnes of Venezuelan gold - worth around $1.2billion - to the UAE by February in order to buy basic goods and prop up his crumbling government. Meanwhile Russia, which is backing Maduro, was forced to deny being in contact with opponent Juan Guaido after the politician said he sent a message to Moscow.

Rep. Karen Bass on Sunday walked back 2016 comments praising Cuban leader Fidel Castro, as scrutiny of her views toward the Communist government threatened her potential selection as former Vice President Joe Biden's running mate. On “Fox News Sunday,“ the California Democrat faced questions about several visits to Cuba in the 1970s and a statement she released after Castro's 2016 death saying, "the passing of the Comandante en Jefe is a great loss to the people of Cuba.” Bass told Fox host Chris Wallace that her perspective "developed over time" and that she now understood that the Castro government "was...

In 2018, Tucker Carlson highlighted the expropriation of land from White farmers in South Africa. He stated "[a]s land seizures based on skin color shows, South Africa is once again becoming a place where an entire group of people is targeted for discrimination and violence on the basis of their skin color." Twenty-six years ago, "South Africans engaged in a peaceful revolution. As late as the 1980s commentators predicted that any transition from white minority domination and black majority rule would precipitate a bloody civil war. Instead, in 1994 South Africans replaced president F. W. de Klerk with Nelson Mandela...

Death of anti-Communist revolutionary Eden Pastora recalls Biden’s reign of error. Eden Pastora passed away at 83 in Nicaragua last month, an event of significance for the 2020 presidential race and an educational opportunity for millennials and such. Back in 1978, “Comandante Zero,” as he was known, led a raid on Nicaragua’s national congress, freeing 60 political prisoners of the Somoza regime. Not present that day were Humberto and Daniel Ortega, comfortably sheltering in Cuba. “They wanted to copy the Cuban model and failed and they didn’t listen to me,” Pastora told reporters in 2003. “I never wanted to be...

Iran, Turkey, and Venezuela's Super Facilitator: Who Is Slex Saab? On June 12, Alex Nain Saab Morán, a Colombian businessman of Lebanese descent, was arrested at Amílcar Cabral International airport in Cape Verde. This was a huge blow to the Maduro regime’s illicit networks, as Saab is a key facilitator, involved in alleged corrupt dealings and money laundering in Venezuela since 2004. His arrest was made after years of investigations on behalf of the U.S. and Colombia to uncover a myriad of shell companies that Saab; his business partner, Alvaro Pulido Vargas; and family members set up. Considered a fugitive in Colombia,...

During an interview with Noticias Telemundo released on Friday, President Trump stated that “Something will be happening with Venezuela” and that the United States will “be very much involved.” Trump also vowed to “take care of the people of Venezuela” and support whoever the people of Venezuela elect and support as their leader. Host Jose Diaz-Balart asked, “For you, Venezuela, is it Guaido, is it Maduro, is it U.S. intervention?” Trump responded, “It’s freedom for their people. It’s freedom. Venezuela was a rich country 15 years ago, and it’s been destroyed by two people, but a system, a horrible system....

As the top human rights body of the United Nations seeks international scrutiny of systemic racism in response to the recent killings of African Americans by police, some countries are wondering if there is a double standard at play for America rather than the ways other countries are targeted for human rights violations because of dehumanizing their people. A draft resolution, a copy of which was obtained by The Associated Press, singles out the United States and could become the centerpiece of a hastily scheduled debate by the Human Rights Council in Geneva on Wednesday. The text calls for a...

A Venezuelan refugee pushed back strongly on Ilhan Omar’s anti-capitalism statements, claiming on “Fox & Friends" that Democrats have a hidden agenda behind their police reform protests. “I think that the big problem that her statement shows is that she revealed her whole intention from the beginning was not about the criminal justice system," said Daniel Di Martino, who grew up in Venezuela and left the country as socialism took hold. "The Democrats have not wanted to pass things like the Justice Act that the GOP proposed in the Senate by Tim Scott,” said Daniel Di Martino, who grew up...

[Tehran] is in a difficult position because it labeled the explosion an accident, but it is now facing a deluge of foreign media reports seeking to conclude that the explosion was perpetrated by a state or group. This is what Iran's regime is reading: Major media from The New York Times to The Washington Post and local media such as Kuwait's Al-Jarida have all sought to assert that Israel was involved in the mysterious July 2 explosion at a warehouse in the Natanz nuclear enrichment facility... [t]hat could set back the program for months or a year. Iran, however, is...

CARACAS, Venezuela — (AP) — Venezuela's Supreme Court, loyal to President Nicolás Maduro, on Tuesday ordered the takeover of two influential political parties opposed to the socialist government ahead of parliamentary elections expected this year. The court suspended and replaced the board of directors for the Justice First party a day after the same move against the Democratic Action, one of the nation's oldest and largest parties. It was part of a “necessary restructuring process,” the court said in rulings posted on Facebook. No legal action was taken, however, against Popular Will, the party of opposition leader Juan Guaidó, who...

In the years leading up to the Civil War, many Northerners and Southerners alike wanted the federal government to take a more aggressive approach toward acquiring new territory. In fact, some private citizens, known as filibusters, took matters into their own hands. They raised small armies illegally; ventured into Mexico, Cuba, and South America; and attempted to seize control of the lands. One particularly successful filibuster, William Walker, actually made himself president of Nicaragua and ruled from 1856 to 1857. For the most part, these filibusters were just men in search of adventure. Others, however, were Southern imperialists who wanted...

"We are feeling many things as we awaken to a world without Fidel Castro,†reads an official Black Lives Matter eulogy for Fidel Castro upon his death. “There is an overwhelming sense of loss…we are particularly grateful to Fidel for holding Mama Assata Shakur, who continues to inspire us…As Fidel ascends to the realm of the ancestors, we summon his guidance, strength, and power as we recommit ourselves to the struggle for universal freedom. Fidel Vive!â€Â “War with the U.S. is my true destiny!†Fidel Castro wrote to a fellow KGB-handled Cuban comrade in April 1958. This was at a time...

The presence at the European Parliament this week of a Palestinian who hijacked planes in Europe last century — and whose organization is on the E.U.’s terrorist list — continues to make waves, with some lawmakers and others calling for an investigation. Leila Khaled, a leading figure in the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP), was a guest speaker at an event at the parliament complex in Brussels on Tuesday night. In 1969 and 1970, Khaled hijacked two aircraft — one Israeli, one American — in European airspace. She was arrested during the second attempt, but was soon...

Reports that operatives from Cuba and Venezuela had possibly infiltrated protests in Miami first surfaced Monday on Primer Informe, a blog run by former El Nuevo Herald reporter Casto Ocando. According to the blog post by Ocando, FBI counter-terrorism agents had detained and questioned people in Miami and other cities who admitted to having been paid by activists to participate in the protests, and were investigating possible ties to Venezuela and Cuba..... And a woman participating in Sunday's march, identified by the Miami-based En Vivo TV as Hellen Pena, acknowledged when pressed that she was a supporter of the late-Venezuelan...
