The International Brotherhood of Teamsters on Wednesday declined to endorse Vice President Kamala Harris or former President Donald Trump and chose to sit out the presidential election, marking the first time first time since 1996 that it did not endorse a candidate.

TEAMSTERS RELEASE PRESIDENTIAL ENDORSEMENT POLLING DATA
“For the past year, the Teamsters Union has pledged to conduct the most inclusive, democratic, and transparent Presidential endorsement process in the history of our 121-year-old organization—and today we are delivering on that promise to our members,” said Teamsters General President Sean M. O’Brien. “Our members are the union, and their voices and opinions must be at the forefront of everything the Teamsters do. Our final decision around a possible Presidential endorsement will not be made lightly, but you can be sure it will be driven directly by our diverse membership.”
The Teamsters have not yet endorsed any candidate for U.S. President. The union’s General Executive Board expects to announce a decision on Wednesday.
Trump won 60-34!

By not endorsing anyone they are basically endorsing Trump, they did not want any backlash from the commies for endorsing Trump so they put out the poll and say “Wink wink look at this and do what you want”
To endorse Trump would have made the Teamsters outcasts within the AFL-CIO.
worked for UPS for years. never bragged about being in that gang.
Yes that is how I see it as well.
That is a big gap between the results for the Biden/Trump and Harris Trump. Men are not supporting Harris. To get the MSM results, either women have to make up this difference or else they are lying to facilitate a steal.
By not endorsing either candidate they give the finger to Harris.
And probably resulted in Mr. O’Brien ending up like his predecessor Hoffa.
I was with PepsiCo. The Teamsters still controlling the UPS pension fund? In every contract negotiation I ever went through, the Teamsters were trying to get our retirement funds away from the company.
PepsiCo was woke long before woke was cool but I trust them more than the Teamsters with rank and file retirement funds.
Yeah O Brien would have been Epsteined, he didnt want it..so instead he posted the poll which he did NOT have to do and said “Ok you all go ahead and vote for whoever the hell you want”
Their lack of an endorsement is tacit “permission” for the rank and file to vote for Trump. There’s probably still a small handful of true believers that needed that.
Cowards.
Trump won the internal vote, so the membership was clear.
They’ve endorsed Democrats with much less margin of victory.
“Cowards.

Agree.
> Their lack of an endorsement is tacit “permission” for the rank and file to vote for Trump. <
It’s more than just that. When a union endorses someone, the union’s political action committee swings into high gear. Phone banks are manned. All sorts of campaign literature is mailed out.
And that literature will deliberately smear the Republican candidate with ugly lies.
At least the Teamsters will be taking a break from that this year.
Imagine the outrage if the poll results were reversed and leadership didn’t embrace Heels.
Let me tell you about the Teamsters.
In 1996 the Teamsters went ALL in on Slick Clinton. Maximum $$, Everyone from business agent up and many foolish members working 60 hour weeks on the campaign and GOTV.
In early ‘97 we went on strike for the only time in my Teamster career. The union had a $54/week strike pay benefit for rank and file to replace paychecks and insurance with. We were starved out and caved in three weeks.
Sounds to me like the membership put some pressure on the Union heads about this.
Communists will never endorse Trump.
Trump should borrow a trick from the enemedia and just issue a statement thanking “The Teamsters” for their overwhelming support “60% of the vote, wow that’s a great endorsement!”
