INDIANAPOLIS -- The field of 64 teams competing for the 2006 NCAA Division I Baseball Championship was announced today by the NCAA. The national top eight seeds are Clemson (47-14), Rice (50-10), Texas (40-19), Alabama (41-19), Cal St. Fullerton (43-13), Nebraska (42-15), Georgia (41-19) and Georgia Tech (45-16). The Southeastern Conference leads all conferences in the number of teams in the championship field with eight, followed by the Atlantic Coast and Big 12 with seven each.
