One of six inmates still at-large after a New Orleans jailbreak last week has been captured, and a jail worker who allegedly helped the inmates escape has been arrested, the Louisiana attorney general's office announced Tuesday. Sterling Williams, 33, an Orleans Parish jail maintenance worker, was arrested after admitting to helping the 10 inmates escape Friday. He is charged with 10 counts of principal to simple escape and one count of malfeasance in office. Williams said he turned off the water to the cell from which the inmates escaped, allowing them to dismantle a toilet and flee. Williams said one...

A Florida election lawsuit has exposed a loophole in federal voter registration law that allows people to register to vote without providing a driver’s license or Social Security number for verification. A Republican congressional candidate is suing Florida election officials over “clone” voters found on voter rolls and questionable mail-in ballot requests, as the number of votes he lost by is less than the allegedly compromised vote-by-mail ballots. However, the lawsuit also reveals a loophole in both Florida law and federal law that allows people to register to vote without providing either a driver’s license number or Social Security number....

Democrats are fighting the Senate election results in Pennsylvania, where GOP Senate candidate Dave McCormick has been declared the winner over Sen. Bob Casey, leading some to turn the “election denier” term on them. Since the 2020 presidential election, President-elect Donald Trump and other Republicans have raised concerns about election irregularities and are often called slurred as “election deniers” by Democrats and the media. However, Democrats in Pennsylvania are now fighting the results of the Senate race that the Republican candidate has won. The Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee (DSCC) and Casey's campaign have sued 10 county boards of elections, demanding...

In the aftermath of the messy 2020 election, Michigan police sent to the FBI a strong body of evidence documenting a multi-state scheme to submit fraudulent voter applications. Three years later, nobody can explain what the bureau did with the case as a similar scheme has now surfaced in the battleground state of Pennsylvania with less than two weeks to go before Election Day. Prosecutors in Lancaster County said Friday they had uncovered a large-scale scheme to submit fraudulent voter applications that were collected at shopping malls and other locations. Lancaster County District Attorney Heather Adams told a news conference...

As Georgia prepares for the 2024 presidential election with implementing new rules and procedures, some unresolved 2020 election disputes remain, with the State Election Board opening an investigation into an issue it previously closed. Heading into this year's presidential election cycle, Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger is implementing election security measures as the Georgia State Election Board is enacting new rules that could impact the November election and investigating 2020 presidential election issues. On Wednesday, the SEB voted to request that state GOP Attorney General Chris Carr reopen an investigation into Fulton County's counting of the results of the...

The former general registrar of Prince William County, Va., allegedly “altered election results” during the 2020 election, according to court documents recently obtained by Just the News. However, the current general registrar says that his predecessor’s alleged conduct didn’t impact any election outcomes. In a county where President Joe Biden received 54% of the vote in the 2020 presidential election to former President Donald Trump's 44%, an election official at the time allegedly "altered election results" in the state's reporting system, leading to three grand jury indictments last year. In September 2022, former Prince William County general registrar Michele White...

Two Democrats in New Jersey are facing new state election fraud charges from 2020 and 2021 related to mail-in ballots and voter registrations. [snip] According to Platkin’s office, Mendez’s campaign allegedly collected ballots that were not sealed...

Since Elon Musk has taken over Twitter (now X), he relaxed its misinformation policies on the platform and has become increasingly critical of Democrats and the Biden administration, federal agencies have begun probing X, Tesla, and SpaceX, raising questions about targeting of the billionaire’s breadth of companies. The probes include the Justice Department’s Immigrant and Employee Rights division investigating a complaint of employment discrimination from a non-U.S....

The FBI took over a 2020 probe into voter registration fraud that began in Michigan but has denied a Freedom of Information Act request regarding the investigation, citing an exemption in that law regarding ongoing investigations. According to the dozens of pages of police reports from the Muskegon Police Department and Michigan State Police, a firm called GBI Strategies was under scrutiny as an organization central to alleged voter registration fraud in the 2020 presidential election. The matter was initially investigated by city and state authorities before the FBI took over. Contacts between local law enforcement and the FBI continued...

As red states pass laws to mandate and strengthen post-election hand counts and audits in an effort to restore public faith in election integrity, a watchdog is warning that such measures could "validate fraud instead of catch it" if underlying issues are ignored. Amid suspicions of irregularities during the 2020 presidential election, some counties and states turned to hand-counting ballots and audits to help determine if there was election fraud. High-visibility audits of that election included those conducted in Fulton County, Ga., and Maricopa County, Ariz. Those audits uncovered significant issues with ballots but reaffirmed the outcome of the tallies...

With Kari Lake's legal complaint alleging systematic signature verification failures in Maricopa County remanded by the Arizona Supreme Court to trial court, closer examination of the signature verification software used by the county reveals a strikingly low threshold for signatures to qualify as "high-confidence" matches. Since falling about 17,000 votes short in the 2022 Arizona gubernatorial election to Democrat Gov. Katie Hobbs, Lake has continued to contest the election results in court, arguing that there were ballot chain of custody and signature verification issues in addition to thousands of Republican voters disproportionately disenfranchised on Election Day, when voting machine errors...

"I hate to say it, but it sure appears that they are willing to at least accept violence if it will meet the ends that they wish," Rep. Scott Perry said. During a tumultuous week, Democrats pressed hard during a prime time televised hearing to condemn the violence 18 months ago during the Jan. 6 riots while staying mostly muted on the arrest of an alleged assassin targeting conservative Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh over abortion rights. The performance has many critics seeing a hypocritical double standard. Liberal Harvard law professor Alan Dershowitz said Democrats' Jan. 6 hearings have been...
