Post-election audits can 'validate fraud instead of catch it,' watchdog warns

As red states pass laws to mandate and strengthen post-election hand counts and audits in an effort to restore public faith in election integrity, a watchdog is warning that such measures could "validate fraud instead of catch it" if underlying issues are ignored.

Amid suspicions of irregularities during the 2020 presidential election, some counties and states turned to hand-counting ballots and audits to help determine if there was election fraud. High-visibility audits of that election included those conducted in Fulton County, Ga., and Maricopa County, Ariz. Those audits uncovered significant issues with ballots but reaffirmed the outcome of the tallies in both counties.

Over the past few months, red states have introduced legislation or enacted laws that either establish or further define requirements for post-election audits and hand counts.

"Post-election audits can 'validate fraud instead of catch it,' watchdog warns"

Which is exactly what happened in some precincts in the 2020 and 2022 elections. When an audit is just re-counting fraudulent ballots, they are just going to discover totals confirming the original vote count. That is why conservatives were so upset with the audits that WERE done.

It all depends on who is doing the auditing. And how.

When there are massive ballot dumps at 3 am, kicking out independent observers, covering up windows, people pulling out hidden ballots and running them through machines multiple times (just to name a few examples), then there is bound to be suspicion.

The fundamental defect in approach was to open the process to fraudulent ballots and then presume all countable ballots are valid.

“Validate vote fraud” = BIG duh.

IMHO, there is no recourse but to return to ID/in-person voting - possibly even dyed fingers - and restrict mail-in/absentee ballots strictly to military and a process which identifies EACH BALLOT with the voter.

If a person wants to maintain a secret ballot, they MUST DO SO IN PERSON!

The fraud is in the signatures. If the signatures don’t match, then the ballot is bogus. There are so many ways to cheat. In Paterson NJ one election, cameras recorded about one hundred people entering to vote. When the machines were tabulated they recorded over 900 votes almost all for the Democrats. A NJ Superior Court judge would not even allow the case. That was just one precinct. Imagine what happens statewide.

This is exactly right.

The post-election fiasco of 2020 was dominated by zany nonsense about rigged vote-counting computers, CIA raids in Germany, and Sidney Powell's infamous "Kraken."

The vote-counting process worked fine.

There was no assurance that all the counted ballots were valid.

Not to mention one of the biggest areas for fraud: No ID needed to vote (along with same-day registration, ballot harvesting, mail-in ballots).

Or, as in Georgia, they checked signatures in only ONE county - not Fulton where the problems were, but Cobb. Cobb county never had problems. So, when they only found one ballot (where I think a guy signed his wife’s name) they could say “See? everything was on the up and up.” Fulton county, the the bogue water main break (it never happened but stopped the count), except for the lady and daughter who secretly got back in and kept ‘counting’.

We never got to see the ballots under suspicion, about 150,000, but I’ll hand it to the patriots who tried everything in the courts to examine them.

Interesting he mentioned AZ, where the candidate for Gov refused to suspend her duties as SoS in the election, thus violating state conflict of interest laws and rendering the election unlawful. Great statement of Hobbs’ morality and ability to lead.

_______

I remember that well. When all the fraud was obvious in Fulton County, Georgia, they shone their light on Cobb which is a county where the election process has always gone smoothly.

“running them through machines multiple times”

That can be found out.

Imagine 100,000 ballots returned and 102,000 ballot scans.

Precinct (or census block) numbers could be printed on ballots and scanned. This could be required in Congressional races by federal law.

Possible phony ballots could be picked out and further analyzed.

Ballot drop-off boxes mean that postage paid and the number of “mail-in” ballots will not match up.

“same-day registration”

Miss College Student could easily vote in two states.

“mail-in ballots”

They should only be given out if requested by signed statement in the past 365 days. Such a signature would tend to better match ballot envelope signature.

In respect to any congressional election, when a ballot signature does not match to according to say an FEC approved system, then the ballot envelope and ballot should go into a provisional processing pile.

Ballots should have to be retained until the end of congressional terms of the congressional victors on the ballot so forensic analysis can be done on the ballots.

“signatures”

My voter card issue date is 6/17/2022.

My voter registration number is 100348267.

Your neighborhood ballot thief might not easily get such info.

That can be found out.

And exactly that situation was found in Georgia. For the subset of ballot images made public by one of the newspapers independent researchers found a few hundred ballots images which were duplicate scans of the same set of physical ballots.

Since the number was small, and the entire set of ballot images was not available, the issue got ignored by the media.

IIRC——Arthur Anderson Accounting firm audited the books of EXXON & pronounced them sound.

Not long after, EXXON got into serious trouble-—

AND that trouble caused the demise of Arthur Anderson.
