The following statement by the Taliban's leader, Mohammad Omar, was aired on Al-Jazeera television on October 26. It is informative that Omar hypocritically neglects to cite Communist China as a "factor of terrorism." On the one hand, for decades the Communist Chinese regime has been involved in the wholesale oppression, forced labor (laogai enslavement), forced relocation, and killing of ethnic Muslims in the Xinjiang Province.
