Southern Arizona has a unique history and culture – one based on absolute lawlessness. As the last state to enter the Union, Arizona was truly the last frontier of the Wild West. It is the land of Tombstone, the site of the infamous shootout between Wyatt Earp and Doc Holliday and a band of outlaws; and it is now the land of the Cartels – the criminal enterprises tyrannizing the people of Mexico. Now, political structures whose conduct and integrity is supposed to be beyond reproach, have been permeated by this spirit of criminality. At its inception in 1854, the...

Liberté! Égalité! Fraternité! is the national motto of France. Liberty, equality and brotherhood were first employed as watchwords for the French Revolution, during which very little of these virtuous ideals were employed by the revolutionaries toward any group but themselves. Here in the U.S., our Revolution used similarly noble words to express our national identity: 'Live Free or Die,' 'No Taxation Without Representation,' 'Don't Tread on Me' and later, 'All men are created Equal.' And to be sure, for most of its history, America has embodied those sentiments, when unrestrained by a government originally instituted to support them. Sadly, it...

She was sending out political messages while at work for Kenosha County and now Republicans are calling for action. A complaint alleges that Mary Jonker of the Kenosha County Child Services Department, sent out emails with her county address asking people to recall Walker. Kenosha County Republican Chairman Matt Augustine has filed a complaint with the state and county, even district attorney's office, saying, "This stuff can't be tolerated, we want open and honest government we want people to do the right things and this is another example of things being done that shouldn't be". Augustine says he discovered that...

Even as Righthaven LLC made headlines for suing Nevada U.S. Senate candidate Sharron Angle last week, attorneys in another Righthaven case accused the firm of misusing the legal system to carry out its copyright infringement lawsuit campaign. Righthaven, controlled by Las Vegas attorney Steven Gibson and the family of Arkansas investment banking billionaire Warren Stephens, has contracted with the Stephens Media LLC-owned Las Vegas Review-Journal to file copyright infringement lawsuits against 117 website owners and bloggers since March.

Once-presidential phrase casualty of word war DETROIT – The phrase "shovel ready," incessantly invoked by the Obama administration this year as a way to sell its $787 billion federal stimulus bill, died Thursday. The official cause of death was overuse, according to Lake Superior State University, which announced the phrase's demise in its annual List of Words to Be Banished from the Queen's English for Mis-use, Over-use and General Uselessness, released Thursday. "Shovel ready" dug its own grave by forcing its way into speeches and out of the mouths of the president and too many other politicians in past months....

By now you have most likely heard the news of President Barack Obama breaking protocol and bowing before the Japanese Emperor Akihito. This is something that U.S. Presidents do not do. It is something that Presidents, Prime Ministers, and Kings of other countries do not do. So why he did it remains a mystery. White house aides say Obama was simply following protocol; however, this is not protocol. It was not a simple bow to show respect, which would require a very slight tilt of the upper body. Instead, Barack Obama who stands 6' 2" practically bowed parallel to the...

THE MISUSE OF II CHRONICLES 7:14   by K. R. Blades    This article touches upon the issue of the healing of our land that is often spoken about in the Kingdom Now teaching and Dominion Theology that is so popular today. The basic tenet of this teaching is that it is the church’s responsibility to bring in God’s kingdom on this earth. Israel failed to do that and the church is failing to do it now. Proponents of the doctrine contend that Christ is waiting for Christians to take control in the nations and lands where they are...

February 22, 2008 Clamour grows to reveal the secret report that throws light on EU 'fraud' David Charter and Rory Watson in Brussels Pressure was growing last night on the European Parliament to publish a secret report into the misuse of MEPsÂ’ expenses, which whistleblowers claim shows widespread abuse of taxpayersÂ’ money. There was disbelief among the few MEPs who have been allowed to see the internal audit after officials at the Parliament said that they had not called in EU anti-fraud investigators because they did not think that it showed fraud. The Times understands that the audit of 167...
  • Question: Are there people on this forum who have experience in how SSDI is being misused?

I am trying to start a discussion and do research on the misuse of SSDI. Many providers are watching many people use disability in the Mental Health and orthpedic fields have a picnic at taxpayer expense. SSDI is funded, if I understand, from Social security payments and are an enormous drain on the system. This is a system that usues privacy rights to prevent any taxpayer oversight. If you have experience as a provider or worker in the healthcare system, or have other expertise I would be interested in discussing your experie3nce either on the forum or through Freepmail. There...

COMPTON, Calif. (AP) - A former school board member received a two-year suspended jail sentence Thursday for charging more than $2,000 on a district-issued credit card while he was no longer on the board. Basil Kimbrew, 51, pleaded no contest to a charge of misappropriation of public money. Superior Court Judge Janice Croft sentenced Kimbrew to two years in jail, but suspended the sentence in favor of five years of probation, according to the district attorney's office. She also barred Kimbrew from having any contact with political campaigns, candidates or political causes during his probation. In exchange for the plea,...

Records by the batch on hold Courts office stops selling large volumes of criminal records, saying companies misuse them By MATTHEW EISLEY, Staff Writer Monday, January 5, 2004 12:00AM EST The agency that runs North Carolina's courts is cutting off a source of public information about criminal cases because, it says, private companies that buy and resell the data for personal background checks are misusing it. The data will still be available in another, more expensive form. Some of the companies that collect and resell the electronic information, commonly used to check the criminal histories of job and housing applicants,...

Christopher Scales , a fifteen year veteran of the NJ State Police , was killed on the NJ Turnpike yesterday , at the Carteret toll booths : not while pursuing the reckless motorists his Tactical Patrol unit is assigned to look for ; not while intercepting would-be terrorists ; not for anything any sane person would consider worthwhile. Someone, higher up , decided it would be a GOOD THING to divert highly trained Officers from their usual tasks, and send them to the toll booths , so they could " monitor seat belt use ". Some Safetycrat, you see, had...

On a break from lachrymose accounts of Palestinian women weeping for their children, The New York Times has been trying to induce hysteria over the shocking Bush policy of deploying American troops in order to protect American interests. Such self-interested behavior is considered boorish in Manhattan salons. The only just wars, liberals believe, are those in which the United States has no stake. Liberals warm to the idea of American mothers weeping for their sons, but only if their deaths will not make America any safer. Thus the Times and various McTimes across the nation have touted the idea that...

A federal grand jury is investigating whether an anti-crime agency overseen by Maryland Lt. Gov. Kathleen Kennedy Townsend improperly used federal funds for political purposes, according to interviews with former employees of the agency and records subpoenaed as part of the probe. The agency released records yesterday revealing that it has used millions of federal crime-fighting dollars to increase the size of its staff, lease cars for staff members and create a Web site that touts Townsend's "legacy" as a crime fighter.
