Lately my Facebook page has been flooded with these ads announcing that seniors can get concealed carry permits on-line, with no safety course, range time/competency, etc. They want to charge $95, presumably to process the application and mail you the permit. The particular ad I looked at made me suspicious, so I closed the page and searched for "KY (my state) concealed carry permit." There was n mention of any change in the laws benefiting seniors. As far as I can tell, you still have to present a certificate of completion for an approved firearms course, undergo the usual background...

I have to assume that this has been posted before but this is the first time watching it for me. What makes it most disturbing is that most if not all of the people spinning (lying) about joe bidens condition are still in high levels of US federal gov't. The liberal democrat party that constantly touts transparency and democracy unceremoniously forced joe biden off the democrat ticket even after millions of Americans had already cast their primary votes for him. The dems threw joe out.

Sacramento, California – A federal appeals court on Thursday struck down California’s voter-approved requirement that ammunition buyers undergo background checks, ruling the measure violates the Second Amendment. The decision delivers a significant blow to California’s efforts to strengthen its already strict gun control laws.In a 2–1 decision, the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals upheld a lower court’s 2024 ruling that the ammunition law is unconstitutional. Originally passed by voters in 2016 as Proposition 63, the law took effect in 2019 and required individuals to pass a background check—costing either $1 or $19—each time they purchased ammunition. The court concluded that...

Chronic respiratory diseases remain profitable but poorly treated, subjecting patients to expensive healthcare, impaired stamina and painful decline. However, there is an effective and inexpensive alternative: dimethyl sulphoxide, or DMSO.DMSO is an “umbrella remedy” that treats diverse ailments through its therapeutic properties, including reducing inflammation, improving circulation, and reviving dying cells. These properties uniquely address underlying causes of chronic respiratory diseases by reducing fibrosis and inflammation, restoring damaged organs and improving circulation.DMSO also addresses respiratory infections through antimicrobial activity, reduced lung inflammation and potentiation of antimicrobial therapies.Extensive published data and user reports demonstrate DMSO’s remarkable results for asthma, COPD, cystic...

To my darling husband Joseph Fontaine Baugher, of 35 beautiful married years! You have been my whole world. We met in 1965 in the Physics Department at Brown University in Providence Rhode Island. I was Physics Department secretary on the fourth floor of the newly built Barus Holly modern science building. You were an adorable young Physics graduate student working for your Ph.D. Not only were you brilliant but also a gentleman. You had eyes only for me. Our Physics Department was also fun. Chairman of our Physics Department, Phil Bray was a character. Finally, in 1969, you received your...

Ellen DeGeneresand her wife Portia de Rossimoved to England back in November 2024. During a recent sit-down interview in the town of Cheltenham, UK, with journalist Richard Bacon, the former TV host gave a detailed update on what life has really been like across the pond. First and foremost, the couple quickly adapted to the country lifestyle and at one point in time were riding lawn mowers on a daily basis, just to keep their pastures down for the horses. The constant maintenance frustrated Ellen and she recalled that she told Portia: "We just can't keep up with this." Portia...

TALLAHASSEE — An appeals court Wednesday allowed an Okaloosa County couple to pursue a lawsuit over noise from a neighboring gun range, saying a 1999 state law aimed at shielding gun ranges from liability violated the couple’s constitutional rights. A three-judge panel of the 1st District Court of Appeal overturned a circuit judge’s ruling that rejected the lawsuit filed by Eugene and Adrienne Gartman, who in 1998 bought 80 acres of land that includes their home. In 2017, BITN, LLC, and a subsidiary company, Southern Tactical Range, LLC, bought about 200 acres immediately south of the Gartmans’ property and began...

The re-districting issue could be resolved by changing the criteria of what a district should be. For example, voters could be divided into districts by age. More easily counted and divided into fair numbers. If groups of people wanted to form their own district based on other criteria, they could/would get people to join these districts based on whatever they felt was important to them, including ethnicity, income, occupation, etc. As people left the age grouping, the districts would shift who was voluntarily in them, but the numbers could be more easily and reasonably adjusted.

A top former official of the Biden administration is reportedly cooperating with a GOP-led probe into the final months of former President Joe Biden’s time in office, the first breakthrough that lawmakers have had after four previous testifiers refrained from speaking. Ron Klain, the former president’s chief of staff who left his role in February 2023, is said to be cooperating with an investigation led by the U.S. House Oversight Committee, which is exploring whether aides to Biden knew about his mental decline and performed presidential functions without his knowledge. The committee had previously sought testimony from other members of...

WELLINGTON, New Zealand (AP) — Most cat owners dread their pets bringing home mice or birds. But for the owners of one felonious feline in Auckland, New Zealand, there’s a worse shame — being the unwitting accomplice to an unstoppable one-cat crimewave. His prolific laundry-pinching from clotheslines and bedrooms in the placid beachside neighborhood of Mairangi Bay has turned 15-month-old Leo into a local celebrity and earned him a new moniker. He now goes by Leonardo da Pinchy. And he’s got expensive taste. His frequent hauls include silk boxer shorts, thick men’s work socks — preferably with clothespins still attached...

Steam preservationist and entrepreneur Ross Rowland passed away on July 19 following a brief battle with cancer. He was 85 years old. Rowland made his money in the commodity trading market, but his true passion was steam railroading, and in the 1960s and 1970s, he was responsible for some of the biggest steam-powered spectacles of the preservation era. Through his High Iron Company, he operated excursions across the Northeast and Midwest using an eclectic fleet of steam locomotives, including Nickel Plate Road 2-8-4 759, Reading Company 4-8-4 2101, and Canadian Pacific G5 4-6-2s Nos. 1238, 1278, and 1286. In 1969,...
