“I find it intensely worrisome and very depressing that one of our two major parties has become a more like a cult of personality where basically everything is measured, and everything is evaluated based upon your loyalty to one man,” Medved said. Kent has also been one of the biggest proponents of Trump’s claims that the 2020 election contained massive voter fraud that led to President Biden’s victory. “He said that the majority of Americans question the results of the election. Biden won the election. He won the popular vote by 7 million,” Medved said. “It’s the biggest margin. Trump...

The House select committee investigating the Capitol insurrection continued on Thursday, detailing how former President Donald Trump tried to pressure his vice president to join in his scheme to overturn the presidential election — and how Mike Pence’s refusal put his life in danger as rioters called for his hanging on Jan. 6, 2021. “Mike Pence was 40 feet away from almost certain death,” Michael Medved, host of the Michael Medved Show, said on the Gee and Ursula Show on KIRO Newsradio. “Some of the the videos that they played about people who were very determined to kill Mike Pence,...

Remember Never Trump? For four years, an influential clique of think tankers, Republican operatives and talking heads claimed that any conservative who supported Donald Trump was complicit with a uniquely malevolent presidency. But if Trumpian conservatives are responsible for everything the 45th president was faulted for, then Never Trump should likewise own the evils of the new Biden administration. Never Trumpers spoke of the Trump GOP almost as if it were Saddam Hussein’s Ba’ath Party, a dictator’s discredited political organ, badly in need of a purge. “President Donald Trump leaves office with a crimson-stained legacy,” thundered Peter Wehner, vice president...

President: Joe Biden For 32 years, from 1980 through 2012, I only voted for Republican nominees for president, proudly backing principled conservatives from Ronald Reagan to Mitt Romney. This time, I am voting for Joe Biden, not because I feel confident that he will reconcile the nation’s warring tribes but because I believe there’s at least a chance that he might. With another term of Trump, there is no chance. OCTOBER 16, 2020 AT 11:42 AM Gov. Inslee and Former Vice President Joe Biden. I was just listening to Michael Medved on the radio, and a caller called in and said that as a Christian we need to forgive Roy Moore for what he did long ago. Michael Medved got very angry and emotional and said as voters that we have no place for giving someone that has not admitted to doing wrong and has not seek forgiveness. He said that there are virtues much more important then political affiliation, and it is wrong to overlook another candidate only because he is of a different political affiliation. Your thoughts?

Donald Trump certainly knows how to manipulate the media and ruffle some feathers in order to get a reaction, this we know. Trump's plan to build a wall on the Mexican border doesn't need to be rehashed here, but one person who has let Trump's rhetoric on the subject get under his skin is former Mexican president Vicente Fox. Fox has been on an emotional roller coaster ever since Trump started in with his criticisms of Mexico. Initially, Fox took to the airwaves to let everyone know that the wall Trump has said Mexico will pay for, ya, he's not...

...there’s no basis for the common claim Obama won through a superb, unprecedented, supremely effective get-out-the-vote effort by the Democrats. Even downcast Republicans have hailed the opposition’s turnout operation as magnificent, but they fail to note that it resulted in far fewer voters showing up for President Obama. - The president drew 7.6 million fewer votes than he did in the hope-and-change election of 2008. - Exit polls showed that Obama got a slightly smaller percentage of the black vote than last time and that turnout was sharply down, delivering at least 1.5 million fewer African-American ballots for the Democrats....

Does this guy have any idea as to the anger Americans have over illegal immigration? He does not want to use the term "anchor babies". He does not want to deport illegals. He obviously does not like Trump. I have stopped listening to him. Anybody else feel the same?

In a compelling column, George Will – who knows a thing or two about conservatism – makes the conservative case against Donald Trump. Mr. Will refers to Trump as an “unprecedentedly and incorrigibly vulgar presidential candidate” who is coarsening our civic life. He labels Trump “a counterfeit Republican and no conservative.” And he argues that Trump is an affront to anyone devoted to the legacy of William F. Buckley, Jr., the founder of National Review and a giant in American conservatism. Just as Buckley excommunicated the John Birch Society from the conservative movement in the 1960s, so should conservatives today...

Jeb Bush says that the prospective confirmation of attorney general nominee Loretta Lynch “sounds to me like a victory” because “getting rid of” current Attorney General Eric Holder has “gotta be a win.” The former governor of Florida said last week that President Barack Obama deserves the opportunity to have the team he wants. He also took shots at Holder then, saying that Republicans should consider that the longer they take to confirm Lynch, the longer he will be in office. “I said that they should have a vote,” Bush told radio show host Michael Medved in an interview Tuesday....

My friend Michael Medved announced to listeners today that he is fighting cancer. I have known a bit longer, but because he is my friend and because he lives the healthiest of lifestyles, the news is still a shock. But here's the thing about Michael-he is the only one I know who could get a diagnosis like this and greet it with a smile. When he told me that he had cancer, it was immediately followed with the reminder that he was not a man to be pitied-he was not a victim. He intended to fight cancer and beat it,...

Radio host Michael Medved revealed on his website today that he was diagnosed with throat cancer last month. He writes, “I always knew that it would take something serious to keep me away from the microphone I cherish for an extended period of time. As it turns out, I am facing something serious. It’s called cancer." Medved was diagnosed with stage three throat cancer and said that it’s actually a highly curable form of cancer. And while he’d been able to keep his radio show going as he underwent treatment, Medved says he’s taking a leave of absence from his...

Why should religious leaders, of all people, turn their fire on celebrities who use their popularity for public proclamations of the almighty’s power? In an age when media icons flaunt every sort of indulgence and depravity, prominent members of clergy should find more appropriate targets to scold than athletic achievers like football's Tim Tebow, basketball's Jeremy Lin or baseball's Josh Hamilton, who choose to flaunt their devout Christian commitment. Widespread discomfort toward well-publicized professions of faith highlights a significant rift in outlook — not just between believers and skeptics, but between religious people who want to limit theological affirmations to...

This column originally appeared in THE DAILY BEAST. In looking ahead toward the November election, Republican strategists should take proactive steps to avoid a damaging, dangerous conclusion to the presidential race and to prevent the very real chance that Mitt Romney will win the Electoral College even while losing the popular vote badly to Barack Obama. The problem stems from the lopsided margins President Obama will surely pile up in a few uncontested states with big populations, including California, New York, Illinois and Massachusetts. Mr. Romney, meanwhile, will prevail by comparable margins in only relatively small states: Utah, Idaho, the...

For more than six months, worried conservative chieftains talked up the need to unite behind a single rightist candidate in order to block the potential victory of the “mushy moderate” from Massachusetts, Mitt Romney. Now, on the eve of crucial primaries in Michigan and Arizona, and with Super Tuesday looming just one week later, some of those same leaders speak privately of the need to unite behind that same, once-dreaded Romney in order to avert an even more dire disaster: the nomination of Rick Santorum.
