... This distrust runs both ways. Pew polls demonstrate a shockingly low level of faith in our government—only 17 percent of Americans today say they trust the government in Washington to do what is right. Public trust in our representatives was not always thus. In 1958, around 75 percent of Americans trusted the federal government to do the right thing almost always or most of the time. The reticence of our political elite to share information with us is not necessarily the cause of such a downward trend, but it both exacerbates it and points to a certain disconnect between...

Splinters from bullets, bouncing bullets, organs moved about in the body, shockwaves — the bottom line is, actual damage from the bullet is what occurs! Preparation is priceless. If anyone is looking to help my friend out, do NOT use Facebook. Here's why: Facebook - you're on my mind. You are a LEECH. A SCUM SUCKER. I, a disabled Navy veteran, donated to a classmate, friend, and fellow veterans benefit for his medical care. YOU, FACEBOOK, took a "fee" out of that donation. So, my donation wasn't a donation, it was a money making opportunity for you. I will be calling my financial institution at 12 Noon on 22 / Jan / 2021 (TOMORRROW) and refuting the charge if you do not either reverse the fee, or cancel...

Kelley Cutler was deeply skeptical when she took part in a monthlong pilot test of Reveri Health, a new digital hypnosis program, at Stanford University last year. The San Francisco social worker needed help quitting smoking, and only joined the program at her doctor’s urging.“I was thinking it was nonsense and was never going to work,” says Ms. Cutler, 44, who had smoked for 25 years. Her first hypnosis session, which took place in person with a clinician, was so anxiety-producing that she had to have a cigarette afterward.Reveri Health, one of a new generation of hypnosis programs and apps...

Sort of a combo thread here. My mother had a short outing with a friend on Sat. Her friend called Tues to say she was pos for COVID, in the hospital. Now, my mother is clearly ill and today, her doctor said to get tested tomorrow, and quarantine for 2 weeks. I and my household family were with her Sun, and I have been with her today to help with the televisit stuff, and tomorrow for the test. Again, we should quarantine and wear masks at home, etc. We are concerned generally, but especially for my mom. She is 83,...

DENVER – United States Attorney Jason R. Dunn announced that Air Methods Corporation has agreed to pay $825,000 to settle a civil case alleging that the company violated Federal Aviation Administration (“FAA”) regulations by operating an emergency-services helicopter with severely corroded pitot tubes. Pitot tubes are components of the pressure measurement system used to determine airspeed. If a pitot tube is not functioning properly, it can cause the airspeed reflected on a helicopter’s instruments to vary significantly from the actual airspeed, cause the helicopter’s auto-pilot to disengage, and present serious safety concerns.Air Methods, headquartered in Greenwood Village, Colorado, is the...

I think it will be the definitive study that might guide us away from lockdowns as they were all based on false modeling. --------------- A systematic review and meta-analysis of 43 studies (3229 individuals) finds that viable virus appears to be short-lived, with high titres of SARS-CoV-2 are detected early in the disease course, with an early peak observed at the time of symptom onset to day 5 of illness (Lancet Microb. 2020;Published:November 19). RNA detection cannot be used to infer infectiousness, but the mean duration of SARS-CoV-2 RNA shedding was 17 days in upper respiratory tract ("no live virus...

Leading California Medical Association officials reportedly joined Gov. Gavin Newsom at the elite “French Laundry” restaurant for a lobbyist’s birthday party on Nov. 6. It’s just the flu, bro. How do the Coronavirus mask mandates and lockdowns compare to the great global delusions of the 20th century? We have the following great delusions: 1.Eugenics from the 1920s-40s which was embraced by the sophisticated scientists of the time 2.Socialism - although Bismarck started it in the 19th century, Americans only really embraced it under FDR and LBJ 3.90% marginal tax rates in the 50s 4.overpopulation- Paul Ehrlich in the 1970s built on Malthus’ work from the 18th century. Some would include the delusion that abortion is good as a subset of this 5.global warming 6.communism...

When 69-year-old Marietta Jinde died in September 2016, police had already been called to her home several times because of reports of possible abuse. A detective described conditions at the woman’s home in Gardena as “horrendous.” She was so emaciated and frail that the hospital asked Los Angeles County adult protective services officials to look into her death. Yet by the time a coroner’s investigator was able to examine Jinde’s 70-pound body, the bones from her legs and arms were gone. Also missing were large patches of skin from her back. With permission from county officials and saying they did...

When the Trump administration gave a well-connected Republican donor seed money to test a possible COVID-19-fighting blood plasma technology, it noted the company's “manufacturing facilities” in Charleston, South Carolina. Plasma Technologies LLC is indeed based in the stately waterfront city. But there are no manufacturing facilities. Instead, the company exists within the luxury condo of its majority owner, Eugene Zurlo. Zurlo's company may be in line for as much as $65 million in taxpayer dollars; enough to start building an actual production plant, according to internal government records and other documents obtained by The Associated Press. The story of how...

Hello again. More complaints about my health! Since July 14 I've been having unrelenting agonizing issues. Specifically since Aug 1 I've continuously had severe burning, leaden feeling in my arms and shoulders. I'm starting to feel more in my legs too. It seems to tie in with a feeling of sickness, too. I get more and more numbness/tingling in my hands and sometimes feet. Yes, I've been to lots of doctors/ER. I have lots of "history" as well, which may or may not tie into this Summer 2020 suffering.

A poll released Friday found a large majority of California likely voters reject the type of gender identity policies that would allow minor children access to transgender medical treatments such as hormone drugs and surgeries. The poll, conducted by SPRY Strategies and sponsored by the Women’s Liberation Front, found 74 percent of likely California voters oppose policies that allow children who claim to be transgender to receive hormone and surgical treatments that could render them sterile. The survey also asked for California voters’ responses to two recent pieces of legislation: AB 2218, which would establish a taxpayer-subsidized “equity” fund that...

The first step towards slowing the rising cost of health care is blocking all the scammers abusing the system. Unfortunately, Congress is reluctant because scammers masquerade as respectable job creators, who make campaign donations to protect their gravy train. Our health care system has high premiums due to high medical prices. This results in anemic employee raises because too many stakeholders are looting the health care store. The cost of these scams are mostly borne by workers enrolled in employee health plans. What are some of the frequent scams? Surprise medical bills are perpetuated by a few bad apples from...
