Vanity - Facebook being Facebook - taking fees out of a veteran's donation - Vanity
Vanity ^ | 21 / Jan / 2021 | Me

If anyone is looking to help my friend out, do NOT use Facebook. Here's why:

Facebook - you're on my mind. You are a LEECH. A SCUM SUCKER. I, a disabled Navy veteran, donated to a classmate, friend, and fellow veterans benefit for his medical care. YOU, FACEBOOK, took a "fee" out of that donation. So, my donation wasn't a donation, it was a money making opportunity for you.

I will be calling my financial institution at 12 Noon on 22 / Jan / 2021 (TOMORRROW) and refuting the charge if you do not either reverse the fee, or cancel the donation all together.

I'll drive over to Todd Russell, my classmate, friend, and fellow veteran, and hand him the $500 cash rather than let you take a penny of unearned money from this disabled veteran. I don't care if he's in Colorado, California, or here in Houston - YOU WILL GET NOTHING.

I'm sure once I reach out to the news channels, as a "human interest" story, it'll be GREAT PR for you - especially after the billions y'all lost in valuation "banning" Trump.

Fed-up Navy Vet - ME

PS - I will be posting this on my Twitter, MeWe, FreeRepublic accounts, Instagram, and reaching out to my local newspaper (for what THAT'S worth), and the major news channels here in Houston - 2 (NBC), 11 (CBS), 13 (ABC), Fox (26) and even the CW (39). Another paper I'll reach out to is the Houston Press, because nothing is better than throwing egg on a multi billion company for the wrongs they are doing.

Just a fed-up veteran tired of billion dollar companies using us for their largess. That donation took me a long while to save - considering I'm the only one working and supporting 6 people, 3 dogs, and 4 cats.

Show me an online fundraising site that doesn’t pass along the fees for server fees, hosting, etc and I’ll show you an online fundraising site that won’t be in business for much longer. This is exactly why you don’t have to mail a check (fee) or drive a car (gas) to hand your friend that check. You being a disabled veteran (thank you) does not somehow make this new or more upsetting. The lost art of reading the fine print has been lost, apparently.

FB isn't the only one that's going to charge a fee for facilitaing the ease of your donation. Capture
free image hosting site
Cost of doing business.

As I thought I said, Riddler, CashApp, PayPal, Venmo, and even Facebook allows fee-less transfer of money person to person. So, on an actual fundraiser to help our fellow man, why take a vig off the top?

That is LITERALLY one of many ways the MOB made money... (besides, drugs, prostitution, assassination, etc.).
