“The breaking news report that you all probably received is incorrect,” Carney said at the beginning of his briefing. He added: “There is no deal. We are not close to a deal.” Carney added that Obama is “in discussions with all the leaders of Congress,” and that Obama is still looking for the “biggest deal possible.”
