The article is the typical "these poor people are sick, they need help, we need funding to study pedos" BS. Skim it. But check out the (closed) comments section. Very interesting. Some of the commenters admit to being pedophiles. Also, commenters debate the differences between sexual interest in a mature LOOKING teen versus the prepubescent children. The article has one good point. Maybe we should allow pedophiles to get help from shrinks without them being forced to report directly, as long as the pedophile doesn't admit to actually touching a child. That is a good subject for debate - maybe...

Law enforcement conflates gangs and hip-hop because young black men are at the core of both. “Police Secretly Watching Hip-Hop Artists” read the headline of the Miami Herald article that put the spotlight on a practice that has grown more ominous at the same time that hip-hop has grown more popular. As Nichole White and Evelyn McDonnell reported on March 9, “Miami and Miami Beach police are secretly watching and keeping dossiers on hip-hop celebrities like P. Diddy and DMX and their entourages when they come to South Florida.” Police officials told the Herald they photographed rappers as they arrived...

CONSERVATIVES have attacked the National Education Association, the teachers union, for its Web site that gives advice on how to teach about the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks. George Will, the Washington Post columnist, wrote that the site made the union "a national menace." The Washington Times, a newspaper that usually supports conservative causes, editorialized that "for the N.E.A., history is farce." And Chester E. Finn Jr., an education official in the Reagan administration and now a prominent critic of public schools, called the site the main source of bad advice for schools, a "mishmash of pop-psychotherapeutics, feel-goodism, relativism and overblown...
