During this year’s second quarter, Democrat Kay Hagan raised more than twice the money for her re-election campaign for one of North Carolina’s two seats in the U.S. Senate than her Republican challenger Thom Tillis, the speaker of the N.C. House. Hagan’s campaign has reported that she raised $3.6 million from April to June, and she has $8.5 million cash on hand. Tillis’ campaign reported that he raised $1.6 million during the same period and has $1.5 million in the bank. Senator Kay Hagen (D., NC) who is up for reelection in 2014 was asked repeatedly about what she knew and when she knew it regarding Obamacare. When asked, “At some point did you know that you couldn’t necessarily keep you policy and still make that claim.” Sen. Hagen dodged this question and any others like it, blaming millions of Americans losing their health insurance on the insurers and not Obamacare. This answer does not sit well with many North Carolinian’s who believe, “basically by implication shouldn’t Senator Hagen somebody who signed the bill herself into law know as well?”
