How badly does Joe Biden want that funding for Ukraine? That's the question Republicans are asking as border negotiations tied to Ukraine funding continue this week. If the reports about what's been agreed to are true, Republicans have already won a big victory. Senators and the White House have reached agreements on "tightening asylum interviews, expanding expedited deportations, and creating an authority to expel migrants without humanitarian screenings when border agents are overwhelmed," according to CBS News. The devil is in the details, of course, and we won't know the extent of those concessions until the deal becomes public. But considering...

Joe Biden already faces a formal impeachment inquiry amid mounting evidence of influence-peddling and bribery, but he may not be the only member of his administration at risk of removal. According to a new report from Punchbowl News, the House Homeland Security Committee, which completed its investigation of Mayorkas in December, has determined it has grounds to proceed with impeachment hearings. Hearings are scheduled to begin on January 10, with a potential second hearing the following week.Mayorkas has been a target for impeachment over his mishandling of the southern border. After inheriting a secure perimeter, the Biden administration instituted open-border...

The House Homeland Security Committee is moving forward with the impeachment of Department of Homeland Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas, as proceedings are scheduled to start Jan. 10, Punchbowl News reported Wednesday. Homeland Security Committee Chair Mark Green, R-Tenn., said last month at the conclusion of the panel's probe that it has provided House Republicans with enough evidence to impeach the secretary. Green accused Mayorkas of misusing taxpayer funds and intentionally ignoring border security measures.

Critics are accusing the DOJ of sweeping additional charges against FTX founder Sam Bankman-Fried under the rug, after prosecutors said he would not face a second trial for campaign finance violations following his conviction last month. In a letter filed on Friday night in federal court in Manhattan, prosecutors said the 'strong public interest' in a prompt resolution of the case outweighed the benefits of a second trial. In his letter to the court, US Attorney Damian Williams noted that prosecutors introduced evidence about all of the dropped charges during Bankman-Fried's monthlong first trial, where he was found guilty on...

"And they were influenced peddling. And the people paying these millions expected favors in return some some kind of public policy coming from the former vice president and maybe even a potential president of the United States. Now they got him now, he's compromised," Johnson said. Wisconsin Republican Sen. Ron Johnson on Thursday outlined the allegations against President Joe Biden and the first family, deeming it "obvious" that the Biden family was engaged in corrupt practices. Speaking on the "Just the News, No Noise" television show, Johnson addressed the litany of suspicious activity reports (SARs) documenting the dubious financial transactions...

The House of Representatives on Dec. 6 voted to pass a bill that will block a proposed rule by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to effectively mandate that most cars produced in the United States be fully electric by 2032.The U.S. Capitol building in Washington on Nov. 13, 2023. (Madalina Vasiliu/The Epoch Times) The bill, H.R. 4468, dubbed the Choice in Automobile Retail Sales Act of 2023, passed the House by a 221–197 vote. That included total GOP support; Democrats, meanwhile, sought to have the bill sent back to committee. The bill would block an EPA rule that would require roughly...

Sen. Mitt Romney, R-Utah, says Republicans want the border "closed" as part of a potential congressional agreement for additional emergency spending requested by the White House and criticized "clueless" Democrats who want to negotiate border provisions. "Dems want $106B—GOP wants a closed border. That’s the trade. But clueless Dems want to negotiate the border bill. Not going to happen," Romney said on X, formerly Twitter. "Is an open border more important to Dems than Ukraine and Israel?"

FIRST ON FOX: The House is expected to hold a floor vote this week on legislation that would strike down pending federal regulations targeting gas-powered vehicles and prohibit any future electric vehicle (EV) mandate. The Choice in Automobile Retail Sales (CARS) Act – introduced over the summer by Reps. Tim Walberg, R-Mich., and Andrew Clyde, R-Ga. – will be considered by the House Rules Committee on Monday before officially receiving a floor vote as soon as Tuesday. If the bill is passed, it would then be voted on by the Senate, where Republicans and Democratic Sen. Joe Manchin recently introduced...

As I write this, the debate between Gavin Newsom and Ron DeSantis is entering the final stretch, but short of a miracle turnaround, a winner has already emerged. DeSantis has hammered Newsom with facts throughout the night, and to Sean Hannity's credit, he's put up graphics with each question that have helped expose the California governor's continued lies. Once things end, there will be a lot to cover (and a heck of a lot to fact-check on Newsom's part), but one moment was just too good to not go ahead and share. In it, DeSantis began to recollect a conversation...

CLAIM: California Gov. Gavin Newsom (D) said more Floridians have moved to California in the past two years than vice versa. VERDICT: MOSTLY FALSE. The raw numbers favor Florida. Newsom is relying on a “per capita” migration rate. Newsom debated Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) on the Fox News Channel in a much-anticipated matchup. Host Sean Hannity asked the governors to explain why there is net migration from “blue” Democratic states to “red” Republican states. Newsom then claimed that over the past two years, there has been net migration from Florida to California. DeSantis seemed rather stunned.

Thursday, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis and California Gov. Gavin Newsom will face off on Fox News in the great “Red State vs. Blue State” debate, AKA the GovShove or the Acrimonica in Alpharetta or Sir Galahad’s Lament . Whatever it is dubbed, the debate is important for both men, with DeSantis – why didn’t he wait until ’28? – having to prove that his terrible campaign has been a mere eight-month “oopsy” and with Newsom having to prove that he is a human being and not just an autobot bred for office by the San Francisco elite. Over the past...

ALPHARETTA, GA — Americans are still reeling this morning after the shocking murder of California Governor Gavin Newsom was captured live on air and broadcast to millions of viewers. "I'm still shaking," said one local observer. "He was just there one moment... and in the next moment, he was brutally eviscerated. Torn to pieces. Murdered. I'll never be able to shake those horrific images from my memory." Fox News was roundly criticized for airing the disturbing footage completely uncensored to shocked viewers. "Kids shouldn't be allowed to see such things," said one concerned mother whose child walked into the living...

Nearly 90 House Republicans say they plan or are likely to support voting to expel George Santos from Congress. That means it’s a near-certainty the indicted lawmaker will be out this week. A POLITICO internal whip count has found that more than 75 House Republicans say they plan to vote for Santos’ expulsion, while a dozen say they are likely to support his removal. If all Democrats vote to boot him, as expected, then lawmakers will reach the two-thirds vote threshold required to remove the New York Republican from the House. The vote would set a new precedent. The House has...

Former Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) is calling on President Biden to refreeze $6 billion in Iranian funds in the wake of the recent attacks on Israel by Hamas. In a lengthy address laying out a five-step plan to address the escalating conflict in Israel, McCarthy took aim at the Biden administration for its prisoner swap with Iran and its decision to unfreeze $6 billion in frozen Iranian funds in exchange for the freedom of five wrongfully detained American citizens. “Biden’s policy on appeasement, including money for hostage deals, must come to an end,” McCarthy said Monday. “His policy has only...

“How bad is the border crisis, really?” you might ask. You’re probably aware that a mini Democrat Civil War is brewing — in New York, of all places — where the arrival of a few tens of thousands of illegals had Gov. Kathy Hochul sniping at Presidentish Joe Biden last week. Just a couple of days ago, in Chicago, residents of the West Side’s Galewood neighborhood were “livid” over plans to house illegals there. Advertisement None of that is anything compared to today’s news that the White House just hit the panic button so hard that it almost made me...

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis had positive things to say today about Scalise and Jordan when asked about their respective speaker bids, but he stopped short of saying who he would prefer to see in the top House post. "I know both of those guys," DeSantis, a Republican presidential candidate, said of his former House colleagues. "They’re both good guys." In his remarks to reporters at an event in Greenville, South Carolina, DeSantis spoke in broad terms about what the next speaker needs to do. "You can’t just say, continue business as usual. You got to be somebody that understands we...

Pro-impeachment wing headed for the ‘boring’ and ‘complicated’ traps. The most powerful response to Ben Shapiro’s tired mantra of “facts don’t care about your feelings” has always been “feelings don’t care about your facts.” Most simply, strong appeals to pathos will always triumph over attempts at stone-cold, emotionless logos. But perhaps, aside from using emotional manipulation to distort the truth, the only other pitfall that is even more devastating to the “facts and logic” approach is a complete oversaturation of information, to the point that even those in pursuit of data and knowledge become either completely bored, or struggle to...

As Kevin McCarthy and key House committees supposedly ramp up their investigations, it's to the American people to make sure a real investigation is conducted, not one for show, demanding transparency and accountability from the Biden administration.

Speaker of the House Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) announced the start of an impeachment inquiry Tuesday into President Joe Biden over his family’s businesses. But he stopped short of calling for a vote to authorize the inquiry. The problem: Republicans argued during the first impeachment of President Donald Trump that Democrats could not use Congress to subpoena the White House until the House had voted to authorize an impeachment inquiry. In fact, that argument was a major part of President Trump’s defense against the charge that he obstructed Congress by refusing to comply with subpoenas issued before an inquiry had been...
